Agree with all of this.

I wasn't thinking about Emery, but, he certainly has something about him.

He's my first choice now.

Just been spending the time whilst the lad is sleeping reading up and about him mate, I even like the way he comes across during interviews, doesn't throw the blame around, just speaks pretty honestly about wins/losses and draws

another stat i really liked to see, they lost to real madrid in may 2015 - ending their unbeaten 35 game strecth at home

a few quotes from post match interviews

After losing to Juve
'We have to look forward,' Emery said. 'It's a learning experience and we have to draw conclusions so we can improve. Because the feeling is that the team has not improved enough and we need to be capable of doing more in attack

After beating Barca in the league
"We have had a lot of opportunities in the other games, but we couldn't convert even though we tried. Everything went right today. We had opportunities, and we finally scored. We played together and put in the effort offensively and defensively, and intensity is the most part of our game. That's what we found today and that's why we won.

"Everyone played well, and it's okay to suffer against a team like Barcelona, but I think we deserved to win. It's a result that gives us a lot of confidence moving forward, and now there is a break to have better ideas, and hopefully it's the start of a good run.

"The Sevilla I want to see is an aggressive and intense team, and that's what happened today. We need our injured players back soon to maintain that level of play."

After losing yesterday to Barca
"The team have competed very well. With eleven men we wanted to have the ball," Emery said. "The numerical superiority we had meant we had to have the ball because we were comfortable. "We had two good chances but we lacked freshness. We had time to beat them. "We congratulate them for victory but also my players and the whole Sevilla. I am proud of the work done in the cup."
"With Coke, he always goes to war. I want that when it is right and when it fails," he added. "The team has been prepared and has competed with a team like Barcelona. I forgive all mistakes. I do not believe in luck, what has been lacking is freshness. "In football we are to live special moments, the team has had them and the fans of has lived here and in Basle.

Comes across refreshingly honest and like what he has to say and the way he says it

I'm not convinced he'll interview him.

Don't think Moshiri would entertain Moyes.

Our club will build a new stadium, maybe limited transfer fund in future (maybe 8-10 years limited transfer fund like Arsenal), if I am Moshiri, I will find a long-term manager with consistent result and perform well with limited transfer fund, that mean Wenger-like manager, Moyes for sure

Maybe he want put a pressure to his current club in order to get better terms for contract extension last year

Yeah mate - Emery is all about the money - which is why he turned down a contract at napoli worth about 4 times per year what he is currently on.

Did you enjoy the way Emery completely and utterly outclassed that clown Klopp the other night btw?

They hadn't won in years before he took over tbf.

But you're right that the league is weak.

Emery has to be the number one target as far as I'm concerned.
The league isn't as weak as you think. PSV were only eliminated on penalties by A Madrid in the Champions League and Ajax won 1 and PSV won 1 this year with Ajax up in terms of goals 3 vs 2 in the head to head. It's also a league that has given us some reasonably big premiership stars among others Suarez, Eriksen and Bony.

Might be something that indeed does appeal to Mr Emery then, moved ahead of the others for me, De Boer too much of an unknown at the level i hope we are aiming for, Koeman a mixed bag of moderate success and big failiure, Pelligrini - good but maybe lost a bit of the fire to really go for it with a new team, Emery - succesful everywhere he has been - Moscow aside where he was frankly shafted big time, got the passion, desire and would be a absolutely 'statement' appointment IMO
Make no mistake if we could land Emery it would be a massive statement. For me he is in the top 6/7 managers in Europe. Big leap forward.

Guardiola's teams press frenetically off the ball and move the final few balls in their moves quickly. They also emphasise movement off the ball.

Martinez and FDB both seem to lack these key ingredients.
That's not true. Watch some of the highlights of Ajax matches and you will see they press high up the pitch and aim to win the ball back within 6 seconds just like Guardiola. The style of Guardiola and De Boer is very similar however how effective it is does depend on the players and the coaching.
