Still not feeling it for Koeman, 8 clubs in 16 years, no trophy won since 2008 and after being manager of Ajax, Benfica, PSV and Valencia his last 3 clubs have been AZ, Feyenoord and Southampton. Is this a manager who peaked several seasons back, got found out, and is now on the downward slope?

You mean like that Ranieri?

Just been spending the time whilst the lad is sleeping reading up and about him mate, I even like the way he comes across during interviews, doesn't throw the blame around, just speaks pretty honestly about wins/losses and draws

another stat i really liked to see, they lost to real madrid in may 2015 - ending their unbeaten 35 game strecth at home

a few quotes from post match interviews

After losing to Juve
'We have to look forward,' Emery said. 'It's a learning experience and we have to draw conclusions so we can improve. Because the feeling is that the team has not improved enough and we need to be capable of doing more in attack

After beating Barca in the league
"We have had a lot of opportunities in the other games, but we couldn't convert even though we tried. Everything went right today. We had opportunities, and we finally scored. We played together and put in the effort offensively and defensively, and intensity is the most part of our game. That's what we found today and that's why we won.

"Everyone played well, and it's okay to suffer against a team like Barcelona, but I think we deserved to win. It's a result that gives us a lot of confidence moving forward, and now there is a break to have better ideas, and hopefully it's the start of a good run.

"The Sevilla I want to see is an aggressive and intense team, and that's what happened today. We need our injured players back soon to maintain that level of play."

After losing yesterday to Barca
"The team have competed very well. With eleven men we wanted to have the ball," Emery said. "The numerical superiority we had meant we had to have the ball because we were comfortable. "We had two good chances but we lacked freshness. We had time to beat them. "We congratulate them for victory but also my players and the whole Sevilla. I am proud of the work done in the cup."
"With Coke, he always goes to war. I want that when it is right and when it fails," he added. "The team has been prepared and has competed with a team like Barcelona. I forgive all mistakes. I do not believe in luck, what has been lacking is freshness. "In football we are to live special moments, the team has had them and the fans of has lived here and in Basle.

Comes across refreshingly honest and like what he has to say and the way he says it
Excellent stuff, I've always been impressed when I've read interviews with him. I love that intensity and drive. If you watch how his teams play and listen to him talk you have to think he'd fit in brilliantly at Goodison and in the Premier League.

I remember reading that Guardiola at Barca had some sort of a 5 second rule for lost possession, in that if the players lost the ball, he'd expect them to instantly press and win back possession within 5 seconds (or some other very short amount of time)

He had them train ruthlessly on it as well!
It's also the reason he said he left. As the team got older he could see they weren't listening to and working quite as hard as before. It's definitely a style that works with a younger team like Pochitino and Spurs.

Our club will build a new stadium, maybe limited transfer fund in future (maybe 8-10 years limited transfer fund like Arsenal), if I am Moshiri, I will find a long-term manager with consistent result and perform well with limited transfer fund, that mean Wenger-like manager, Moyes for sure

Is that you Davy? Cheeky scottish devil

Ranieri the exception to the rule.

Things tend to regress to the mean, meaning all else being equall, money + a winning CV is the best predictor if a manager being successfull.

There could be an exception more than once.

Nobody knows how, say Emery, would settle in England. Good manager for sure it seems, but could easily go tits up as it did for him on Russia. There's a risk with eveyr single option.

Just kill me now.

Bummer that Mourinho is now officially off the table, if he was even on it to begin with.

Second choice for me would be Emery. I believe we'd only be taking a risk with him due to his lack of familiarity with the Premier League but for all intents and purposes he seems like a top coach.

The wait is gonna start doing my head in now!

Is it absolutely obligatory for any manager anywhere to have had a spell in charge of Valencia? Or at least it seems that way from any prospective manager I have read up on (bar FdB).

Loving watching sky sports here.

Poised for a Jose jizz fest aren't they..

The lad will be fuming if the news breaks as his shift ends...
