Hes fine where he is. He'll never win a bean, but good luck to the lad. He's enjoying himself for a couple of seasons.

Promoted Bournemouth twice which is good going, and then got them solid in the premiership. Think to suggest he's just enjoying himself is to play down and belittle his competence.

We haven't had a decent season, but we still have the potential to have one depending how the next 180 minutes go at Wembley, as for the ignition of Chelsea the following game was one of the worse I have seen at Goodison for a long time.
Winning the FA Cup will be fantastic, but do you think Wigan fans would swap that for still being in the Premier League? Or even The Championship?

Thoughts on Manuel Pellegrini?
Plus points
Like him as a person, apart from the usual guff that most managers come out with at press conferences he is usually respectful of opponents and seems generally well liked by his players
Plays a generally entertaining and attacking brand of football

Negatives
Seems disinterested in bringing through any young players
Tactically suspect - seems to persist starting with a formation that has been exposed for far too long (he was wedded to 442 for a lng time depsite his midfields being routinely outplayed) and also often struggles to adapt mid-game.
Throughout his tenure at City the team has struggled on the road, can he motivate players?

Given their historic place in football, probably, yes they would.

Speaking as a part time Bristol City fan, a few seasons in the PL, with an FA Cup would send most of my mates giddy.

Its the natural balance of football. Occasionally it goes a bit haywire, (Villa this year, Bournmouth too). But generally, it does.

They don't have the option. But hypothetically some might. Lots may have seen their time in the top flight as an adventure that wasn't sustainable for long term. To have won a major trophy in that time would have been beyond all expectations and it will more than likely be the most lauded moment in their history.
And of course it could have easily been relegation and no cup in that season.
Would they have swapped the cup win for another couple of seasons near the relegation zone?
But maybe more of a relevant comparison; would they have swapped it for finishing a couple of places higher in the league if already safe anyway?

I dont think they would swap it,

Most Wigan fans regard it as one of the best sporting days of their lives. You can never take it away from them, they will always be fa cup winners 2013.

But we aren't Wigan, there is no one who supports this club who would even contemplate the conundrum of relegation v Fa cup winners. The standards are a little bit higher at Everton (I hope).

....I dont get involved in that speculation. We have a manager and he wont be relieved of his post or walk away.

Question must be asked then, whybon earth are you posting in this thread for then Dave, the title kind of says that speculating about a new manager is what this thread is for, or do you have to post in any thread that has any anti Martinez vibe in out of duty?
