One word.

Stature.

Everton were once the most successful English club, 2nd most successful going in to the Prem years and even though this period has been a nightmare we are 4th most successful still.

Do not play down our stature like the media trolls love to. Kenwright's stewardship has masked what this club actually is.

We need a spark and we can rise like an unstoppable force very quickly.

And we are in the premier league arguably where every manager wants to be, can probably offer him a bigger salary and a bigger transfer budget. Italian football is on it's arse. Milan are a massive club but nowhere near what they used to be.

Maybe he see's himself making them great again

They are a much bigger outfit than us

Personally I think its a mistake for them not to speak to De Boer. Seems like a very creditable candidate... I'm warming to him especially if he brings the Ajax team with him. The only explanation would be that the team employed to conduct the manager search haven't recommended him and Moshiri isn't deviating from their list.

AC Milan are a massive club but one in turmoil. They've had 6 managers during the 3 seasons Emery has been at Sevilla.

The takeover chat has been rumbling on at Milan for a few years. Would be a huge risk going there IMO

Im not playing down our stature...but Im not playing down theirs either.

Lets hope we can lure Emery in but like I said days ago...when teams like Atletico and AC Milan pop up into the frame we will be pushed back into the line

In that case there will be other options for Monchi. Just can't see Everton doing great business. He'll he snapped from some other club such as Spurs, Real Madrid, Athletico or Man Utd or we'll manage to bottle it. Emery wouldn't wanna manage us without Monchi I feel. Despite the release clause, he is only liable to talk to us, but what can you do if he still doesn't wanna come? Can't appoint someone who isn't keen to manage Everton. Till now only FDB and Moyes have shown interest in us.
Well apparently Man U and Real don't have any plans to approach him. But yes any club can approach him and we need to hope that we sell him the club and the opportunity. if emery is also keen then they can continue there work together at a club that is investing money and the most important factor being that we are in the premiership where everybody in football seems to want to be at the moment.
No other premiership club can offer the 2 of them the chance to continue working together and that alone could be the deal clincher.
Plus I'm not sure why you seem certain emery isn't interested, if we are to believe that talks have been going on over the past few days them I'm sure there is interest from his side. Weather there is enough interest to leave Seville for us remains to be seen.

It's like somebody has tossed a hand grenade in this thread and got on one from the last 10 or so pages. As Marvin Gaye said 'Whats goin on' ?

Can't argue with that tbf they are a much bigger club. Also living in Milan to the North West could come in to it.

It depends what he wants himself. Does he want thechance of the big bucks in the prem and pit his wits against Mourinho, Guardiola, Conte etc or does he want to go to a corrupt Italian league full of uncertainty but is much the safer option for him career wise.

Either way what will be will be .

There will be mass suicides here if we have to wait three weeks with no further info apart from newspaper rumours to see us through it.

Sweet jesus - imagine that if it took another 3 weeks.... with like absolute silence, we aren't even having newspaper rumours no more, even the rags are bored of the wait for a manager they just jibbed linking us to people
