This is another thing that Koeman has proved he is capable of at Southampton. First season, he had to deal with the departures of Lovren, Lallana, Lambert and Chambers, plus Rodriguez being out for the season.

He brought in Tadic, Mane and one or two others that he knew would compliment the squad and how he wanted to play.

id love a player with mata's creativity....we have very few players who can find that special 10 yard pass through the defence.

I really hope we don't spunk £100m+ on players in one window. Rarely do any more than 1 or 2 of the signings come good. Then £50m+ is wasted on crap and we end up looking like all the other clubs that we prided ourselfs on not being like.

Yeah i agree, 1 or 2 real top quality signings for the first xi!
No squad players, no 4 choice centre midfielder we have plenty in the squad already.
My one worry about Koeman is the kids, before he took over southamptons strategy was get a strong xi then fill the squad out with kids, and if they come good great. Once the kids got sold on that strategy seemed to disapear with not much game time for the likes of Taggart, Reid, Gallagher, even Ward Prowse at points, instead it was alot of 3 million quid full backs and 14 million quid Shane Long's etc.
It may be the case that Koeman comes in and goes, WOW these kids are really good and decides to use them, i just dont want us filling our squad with average players when we can push 2 or 3 kids up a level

@The Esk said they gave us permission at the end of the season, probably the financial details need to be worked out, but presumably a deal could be agreed.

Depends on how you look at it.

The failure there is when the money is spent on the team. If the money is spent on the squad then it will have a different outcome. Make the squad competitive rather than shoe horn 7 new players into it. We have enough players in the team to not have to fundamentally change things straight away

Why the hell would he leave Leicester? Leicester won't lose any of their best players this summer.
