What people need to realise is that whilst Biesla inspired managers like Guardiola and Pochettino, both of those amongst others took the basis of his high pressing game and TWEAKED it.

Basically Biesla (like Martinez) adapts the purest forms of their philosophy with little in terms of a plan B.

my own personal opinion is that he would be a bad appointment, his temperament and stubbornness may have us as frustrated as we currently are under Roberto, alongside the fact the bloke hasn't won any trophies in the game.

If we don't go for a top manager like Mourinho or Emery then we really do need to aim for a Mancini or Pellegrini.

The lads have been through the ringer at Finch Farm - Biesla would send them over the edge.

Was talking to a mate today who in all fairness is generally clued up on football. What scared me is when I was ranting about Martinez was his reply, which I think generally represents the image of Everton as a whole.

He came back to me with, "apart from Moyes, is there really anyone else out there not free who would go to Everton?" He's never been disparaging about Everton before, and it spoke volumes really. We're seen from the outside as a whole as we were pre-Moyes, just another old club with its best days behind us. With how influential the media appear to be these days in the hype surrounding new managers, will we be able to attract the top quality? Honestly think that's what is needed, if anything, just to keep our four best players at the club. Without those players we're looking at another three years at least to get back to where we are now.
In all fairness, that's complete bs if you ask me. Football is big business, it's about money. Players and managers will always go where the money is. Give them a good story about ambition and an even better paycheck and they'll sign. Where do you think Chelsea and City started off. By showing them their history?

His mate mate is spot on. Until this gentleman arrived and changed the game.

Don't agree wenger said only a few months ago every manager in the world wants to manage in the premier league & we pay our managers top dollar. What you are suggesting is that we couldn't attract a decent manager before nah

Granted we can now have our pick of almost anyone bar perhaps the top elite managers so the bar has risen but we still could of attracted someone decent even without moshiri

Muniain no?

He look immense. Did he ever push on?

Aye meant Muniain mate, had a brain fart when typing before, i know their was a few stories about him not being as dedicated as he should be etc, loads of pictures in nightclubs etc (bit of a wlitshire thing) and last season he popped his knee, he's back now though playing for Bilbao, so kin answer nah he didn't push on the way he looked like he would do.

This is obviously it. I went on to him about the money we now have meaning we can attract a much higher level than we previously could. I just hope that is enough to be able to persuade the higher calibre manager we are in desperate need of. Moyes tailed off, Martinez is out of his depth. As everybody has suggested, the money will be enough to attract that man. I hope it is. Just thought I'd add it, given the spiel that we've had from other 'pundits'- ala Townsend, Strachan et al. The belittling of the club and ignorance to our potential for growth now with Moshiri seems more widespread than we'd like it to be. I'm hoping this doesn't have a negative effect on the search for what we need to ensure we don't take a backward step this summer.

This bit I didn't know. And it changes any excitement I had about him.

We have to get someone who has won stuff. Either as a player or a manager. Or both.

My feelings exactly mate, likewise I wouldn't be fond of someone who's won 5 Dutch or scottish titles, we need someone who's won trophies in your competitive leagues, the likes of De Boer and Biesla are massive risks in my eyes, at a time when we need some stability after two poor seasons.

Assuming any of this is true, who at the club would be responsible for the "contact" of such a left field choice?

I have absolutely no idea mate. If it was down to Kenwright and Elstone I'd laugh at the mere idea, but Moshiri used specialists to help out in his due diligence so maybe any possible replacement for Martinez would be head-hunted using a similar mechanism ? That's total guesswork though, my gut reaction is that it's just a rumour.

Someone has plucked a name out of nowhere brilliantly if so.
