Just my opinion, Marcelo Bielsa is the best football manager in the world, genius. Have a look at Bielsa work with Chile, Athletic Bilbao. We will be very lucky to get him http://www.theguardian.com/football...15/dec/17/marcelo-bielsa-manager-swansea-city
I think it would be an interesting appointment.

The fear is that we would be getting more of -
He is one that has always prioritised the execution of the process over the eventual outcome

Was thinking about Mourinho this morning and we have some similarities with the first successul team he had at Chelsea.

We have money to spend (now)
We have a spine of talented players to build the team around - Stones, Barkley, Lukaku* (see Terry, Lampard, Drogba)
We have been starved of success
We have an ambitious owner (see Mosh statements here and as part of Red and White Holdings)

If the much muted Man Utd job didnt materialise then I think we'd be his dream ticket not just in the PL but anywhere in Europe. He knows he could come in supplement that spine and coach them, yes coach them into winners. In return he would be hero worshipped on the terraces and have the media dancing to his tune again but this time at a club with history, tradition and gravitas.

True if previous form is anything to go by he'd probably sod off after 3 seasons, but look what that gave Chelsea. They had a competitive team that continued to win trophies, titles, european trophies and the last of that squad is only now finally edging towards the door more than a decade later. Yes Roman paid for it but money doesn't build a winning mentality alone.

I didnt think we had a chance in hell before, but if we are actively sounding people out now then we could force Man Utd's hand. If they stall or panic over letting go of LVG we could hit the jackpot.

* before anyone waves the Jose doesnt like Rom stuff around this would be totally different. Rom is an established player now who can score for fun. Not a raw kid at Chelsea who thought he should play.

A fully backed Mourinho for me can attract the big names.
Tick, tick and tickity tick.

Are we thinking that there really is somekind of process ongoing for creating a shortlist of potential managers?

You would think that the club would be doing active work working up a shortlist of managers should Martinez be on his way.

The fact there is rumours coming out about managers being sounded out, kinda makes it feel like the writing is on the wall.

That Bielsa rumour indicates this yes. Strangely it stated specifically that Everton " consultants " are sounding peeps up

I would say that makes sense tbh, I would think Moshiri is running the show on this and i would guess he would use consultants, or some vessel to get introduced to managers and sound them out.

While Martinez is still at the club it can't appear officially that we are seeking replacements and i would envisage that we would go down that route until Martinez is removed.

Can you imagine the media coverage we would get if Mourinho rocked up at GP?

I hope this Esk suggestion is 100% true and happens sooner rather than later. If we don't win this week it would be the perfect time if the right candidate is available to take over immediately.

I would actually prefer a Mourinho or a De Boer to a South American, as much as I respect Pelligrini or the other fellow Bielsa.
