I agree, but you can also understand why they are confused why he might move.

I'm intrigued to see who you sign. I think this summer it might be quite hard to sign big players. The Euro's will delay a lot of the best players moving, and create a bottleneck where there is limited supply and huge demand.
I think the signings could depend on who we get as DoF. Koeman might have his eye on players he was thinking for Southampton (if that what he did) and if we get Monchi, then he sounds like someone who can spot talent on a budget. Who knows what can happen when he's got a big budget.

Don't worry about us mate. I'd be more concerned by who Steve Wigley will be able to attract for your lot.

Biggest problem for us now is, if we're seen as having a huge wedge of cash to splash, selling clubs automatically start asking ridiculous fees for players.

I

Last season was one of the worst for me, my motivation and resentment of the team I loved playing the way they did and not caring and losing points in some of the most shocking ways changed my whole concept of supporting football and enjoyment of it. Now with an opportunity to bring back the NIL SATIS NI OPTIMUM and the create the love of our great team, it is an uninspiring choice, could he be brilliant? yes but we have a chance to get a real beast of a manager to kick ass and terrorise this league, I would nearly spend a lot more and get better managers out of contracts if possible, than to do it for koeman. The manager is the most important person of our team, it all gets direct from him, worth more than a 13m midfielder or attacker, so don't aim big and get mediocre aim big and spend and get big. Don't know who or who would want to come but this could be the most important signing to start the everton revival off
You need to get real mate, Moshiri coming in is more about evolution than revolution. We need re building from the bottom up, we have a good academy and that's about it. We simply aren't in a position to recruit a world class manager.... yet, I think Koeman will help re build us from a first team perspective, with the help of Moshiri's investment and business acumen we will be in a far stronger position 2 or 3 years from now, all of this under pinned by a new director of football and new stadium. I think Moshiri plans on being here for the long term and that can only be good for Everton.

Say's who?. He's a top manager thats already contracted to a club thats got european football next season. We finished in the bottom half of the league, so how exactly elese was gonna temp a top manager.? If he had gone to Arsenal and they where paying him £7m no one would bat an eyelid.

He's worth whatever Moshiri is willing to pay in order to secure his services. This is Moshiri's gig now, if he wants something he'll get it.

If it turns out to be true that we've offered Koeman £7m a year, I think I'll actually be physically sick.
Yes it is a ridiculous amount of money. But to land moshiri's supposedly top target, we were going to have to offer an incredible salary. This remember is for a team not competing in Europe and having finished 11th the last 2 seasons. However saying that,I'd like to think that it's not only the salary, but the vision moshiri has for the club that has swayed koeman.

Everton are a massively bigger club than Southampton mate. The only person I've heard suggest otherwise is that utter pleb Ray Wilkins.

We have 9 titles, countless cups, fans all around every part of the UK and Ireland, the most years of top flight football in England and you won't find Everton languishing in an empty stadium in the third tier.

We should be contending for titles. We would be if it weren't for the systematic destruction of our club by our greedy, unambitious, self satisfying last couple of owners. I like Southampton as a club but we can offer him things that you cannot. This club needs to return to where it always was.

I think the signings will all depend on what style of football you will play under Koeman. If your going to copy his saints team playing style, then the transfers might make sense.
