On Southampton's sub-reddit they're saying that with a good replacement they could break into top 4. Christ

well, certain sections of our support seem to be expecting nothing less than a league title next season.

By that logic, Sotton are much closer to breaking into the top four than we are at least

There can't be a clause which states that a player can't sign for a club .

Saints couldn't over ride every one of there players contracts with a condition that restricts trade between two associated clubs.

It's a handshake rather than an obligation and thus meaningless
It's a clause stopping us from activating any clauses in a contract, usually it only last 12 months and can be overridden if other clubs have bids accepted allowing us to join the bidding war

And as far as I am concerned Koeman is a stepping stone for us.

I expect our next manager to be of a higher calibre than him.

So the ambitions of Everton and Koeman are mutually inclusive :)

He does well with us and his dream move is on.

And if we have done well with him we can pick our new manager from a classier field.

It's all good ;)

Something I'm not quite getting here. If Koeman does well then his dream move to Barca is on and we can move on to a classier manager? Erm, if he's worthy of the Barca job at that point then would he not be one of the "classiest" managers in world football?

The translation didn't work out too well - "Everton has another year continuous contract"- does that mean a one year rolling contract £5M per year or we've paid £5M to buy him out of his contract?
