Mourinho is a pipe dream,...

Why so? If what he said is to be believed, he will have an appointment in England some time in the summer.

So, he'll be talking about a Premier League club.

From what has been published, half the ManU board are set against him going to them, as is Ferguson.

The only other post open at the moment is Everton. ManC & Chelski are settled on a new boss. Can't see Arsenal ditching Wenger.

It is a challenge of immense proportions: getting the team on the top line, and topping the RS in their own back yard. Big salary and big money to spend on players is not an issue.

Stranger things have happened...

i'm not getting sensitive at all, but over-reacting to someone calling you 'mate'. Are you not from Liverpool, person?

Okay, you can call me mate if you want. I feel closer to you already.

Anyway, you made a comment, I responded with reference to something that proves your comment to be unsubstantiated. You respond to say you don't need statistical evidence to form your opinions. I don't think this conversation has anywhere else to go.

Other than Porto, he's walked into clubs that have handed him an unlimited cheque book with squads that were already near and/or of a Champions League level.

Do you really see him taking on a "rebuilding" job, as in our case? The biggest challenge I'd bet he'd be willing to take on would be winning the CL with PSG - again, with unlimited funds at his disposal.

For those concerned about Koeman, just imagine this scene at Goodison next season:

i think you legitimately need to chill out caught, my reply to your statistic post was more tongue in cheek than anything else, i apologise that you didn't get that. (Pellegrini is still dross in this league though)

I felt your 'don't call me mate' remark is petty, it's a common term in Liverpool, and frankly you call anyone 'mate' here even if they are total strangers.

End of the day we are both evertonians, and quite frankly evertons the only thing i'm arsed about on here.

Here's an interesting article on Koeman. https://atthematch.com/article/ronald-koeman-southamptons-saviour
It highlights his managerial career and shows how he turned around Feyenoord before coming to Southampton. After reading up on him I can see what our glorious leader sees in him though he has had some failures. He likes attacking football but practices set pieces / defending and is flexible in his tactics unlike our former manager Roberto who was be-musingly rigid. It's clear Everton have briefed the press with £100 million budget stories to unsettle him. I wonder if that £100 million includes player sales. Far less impressive if it does but good times ahead none the less.

Can you be a bit more specific re players and chairmen? He challenged Deulofeu to be more of a team player and to work harder, whilst acknowledging his talent and you know what he was bang on.

He acknowledged his talent yes, and I think he was right to criticise him. However, his treatment of him in the second half of the season was ridiculous.

And, correct me if I'm wrong, but did he not have quite a public falling out with the Valencia board?

Let's get it straight though, I think he's a very good manager. But do you really think in his mind the next step would be Everton?

You're overestimating our own current stature within the European game if you don't think Emery wouldn't think himself capable of taking a bigger step...

Yes, failures that he has learned from to become a better manager.

no mate it happens to be my eyes.

The same eyes that have seen pellegrini struggle in the league all season to the point where he is barely getting to champions league and getting tonked by southampton

just that tho

Kompany makes that team tick.

Without him they lack a leader in defence.

Not so much that it's a tactical thing. It's simply the fact that without a leader they're extremely vulnerable.
