i think you legitimately need to chill out caught, my reply to your statistic post was more tongue in cheek than anything else, i apologise that you didn't get that. (Pellegrini is still dross in this league though)

I felt your 'don't call me mate' remark is petty, it's a common term in Liverpool, and frankly you call anyone 'mate' here even if they are total strangers.

End of the day we are both evertonians, and quite frankly evertons the only thing i'm arsed about on here.

You're getting a bit tedious now. I was joking with you, pretty much from the start. I thought comparing Pellegrini to a dead grandma might have clued you in on that but never mind.

And thanks for sharing your emotions with me. I'm from Liverpool though, so the lexicon lesson is unnecessary.

Anyway, Pellegrini's defence has been surprisingly solid over the last three years. Still, my grandmother couldn't get the best out of Barkley and I doubt he could either.

Kompany makes that team tick.

Without him they lack a leader in defence.

Not so much that it's a tactical thing. It's simply the fact that without a leader they're extremely vulnerable.
he had all the money in the world and spent 30m on otamendi, it's down to his recruitment side of that's the problem, and that's all his staff.

another ridiculous Martinez game. From heaven to hell in one half. As I reflect on his tenure, I'm going to remember him for all these "nearly" great moments: against West Ham (thrashing them with 10 men), Bournemouth (last gasp winner!), Chelsea (a topsy turvy game won away by the real blues), nearly winning the League Cup semi final away to City, etc.

Anyway. off topic. Soz.

Me and you were both very much behind him until that West Ham game, IMO. Same for a few others I think.

West Ham game put me on the fence, and it was over when he lost the dressing room after the United (league) game.

ok lad. Ok.

Otamendi was superb in La Liga last year. He was highly touted as the best defender in Spain...

It wasn't exactly a bad signing. He actually is a very good player, but it shows how hard the prem is to adapt to.

Other than Porto, he's walked into clubs that have handed him an unlimited cheque book with squads that were already near and/or of a Champions League level.

Do you really see him taking on a "rebuilding" job, as in our case? The biggest challenge I'd bet he'd be willing to take on would be winning the CL with PSG - again, with unlimited funds at his disposal.

Is there that much rebuilding to do? A core of decent players are there (it was just that Martinez hadn't a clue how to set the team up and get the best out of them).

There would be more than enough dosh for him to get good players on to build upon what is already there.

And yes, I think the challenge of topping the RS in their own back yard (he apparently dislikes them as much as us) could be something that might appeal to him.

If he is staying in England, and will have picked up a team during the summer, tell me of his other options at present...

but kompany injury woes have been a problem since the start of his campaign, and he hasn't fully solved it.

The fact he HASN'T managed to do that is worrying.

Jose didn't really have an unlimited chequebook at Inter nor with his 2nd spell at Chelsea. Still won Big Pots.

Remember that time before we were all football genius's, when we put a 50ft portrait of Martinez up on the side of the stadium and thought it was boss.

We're all bad Teds.

To be fair I remember most of us on here cringing at it even before it got unveiled.

Let's get it straight though, I think Koeman's a very good manager. But do you really think in his mind the next step would be Everton?

It's another step-up, isn't it? Every manager we've employed has had to step up from a lowlier position. Would be nice to employ a manager who's coming from a major background to step us up.

I really, really, really want Koeman on board. Did I mention that I really want Koeman?

Fits like a glove: "he's got red hair, but we don't care, Roooonald Koooeman".
Fact: Only red-haired managers have ever gotten us into the CL.

Checked the Southampton forum earlier, they think Ron wont come here and its a sidways move and makes no sense, asking what can we offer what they cant.
