He is a beaut, but Barton was bang on on talkcrap yesterday. He said start with Mourinho and work your way down if you get knocked back.

These beauts who are coming out with Mark Hughes, Dyche, Howe are just brainwashed by plucky little Everton.. god forbid we dare to be great again.

Same, but then again you get fans screaming 'ambition' because it hasn't been publicly announced we've tried for Emery or Mourinho.

Mourinho is free so it's a realistic place to start, even if the chances of getting him are so slim.

Koeman is the most realistic choice that I think would guarantee improvement.

De Boer is a big name but has a lot of doubters.

...SKY have just touted FLORES.

MARTINEZ for WATFORD?

Mental really that isn't it, Flores out performed their target of staying in the premier league, go them to a semi and looks to be getting the sack. We under perform for 2 years and its took this long to remove the manager.

I like Flores, but i would be immensely underwhelmed with him, especially when Koeman is getting the stick and reluctance he is getting.

...mad innit.

Polar opposites.

DENNIS LAWRENCE 11ft 6"
SAMMY LEE 3ft 4"

I wouldn't mind just like...hmmm...like a normal sized competent coach.

Agree totally. Let's show some ambition. Sick of this small time [Poor language removed] that exists because of Moyes and Kenwright.

not gonna be popular this but if you are looking for somebody who....

- is proven in the transfer market
- gets the best out of players
- is flexible in tactical approach
- experience in the league
- respected by the players
- knows the club

..then David Moyes has to be on the list. I know hes pissed alot of us off but you can't argue that he didn't do a good job for us for 10 years on a shoestring budget. I think he is less of a risk than some of the other names being mentioned and i'd like to see what he could do with a bit of money.

When you of some of the players he signed for us for very little - Coleman, Jagielka, Baines, Cahill, Arteta, Distin, Stones, for example - all turned out to be great signings. Off course there were one or two bad ones but overall he has a good record.

I wouldn't be too disappointed if he was appointed.

I think the thing has to be, we start off at the best available to us, thats Mourinho. We have been told there has been discussions that have taken place, for a multitude of reasons they might fall though, they might be successful - i think we won't find out till after the FA cup final. I am pretty relaxed about that.

Start at the best, then work our way down in regards to OUR aspirations, where we want to be. If Moshiri is offering 100m this summer, regardless of how thats funded, he will want to ensure he has the best man for his ambition of the club. I understand the want to maybe look at premier league managers - with the state of the team after this season am not sure its a massive gamble to bring someone in like De Boer, who could potentially drop us further down - or it could have the opposite effect. who knows right now.

One thing is Mourinho, Koeman they know what the league is about, so its logical we would start there.

Mourinho - Koeman - Emery/De Boer/Favre.

Definition of going backwards... literally.

Never look back with birds mate, its a recipe for disaster.

Same with managers... people saying they would be underwhelmed with Koeman - i think there would be serious problems with Moyes.

exactly.

I just hate the term 'lack of ambition' being used to slam fans who are offering logical, realistic options and providing solid arguments.

Some fans just seem to think that we can go out and get the best managers in the world cos it's Everton la and everyone wants to be here...
