Looking at Koemans career next to Quique Flores theyve managed at a few of the same clubs but I would say Flores has been more successful. Hes younger than Koeman and taking Watford to 13th and an FA cup semi was easily as impressive as Koemans season at Southampton.

Oh he is a nice fella, i have had a pint with him in the Bear and Staff in Woolton always up for a chat about footy, he is there when back these ways.

One thing is though, he is a billion percent a red, and one of the not so nice ones we encounter. I stay away from any chat of Liverpool or Everton when i have seen him, best that way - normally Aldo is in the background somewhere and pipes up too.

....although he's a little bit younger than me I played in the same team as Sammy as well as representative schoolboy football, he's a really nice fella. I'm not sure of his coaching ability but that would be the case for anybody unless you've worked with them.

Exactly - one thing is getting worked about Benitez. But Sammy Lee?

We were terrible when he arrived and had been for over a decade. Financially we were in a terrible shape, and remained so throughout his time here.

The period he was here was the 3rd best 10 year period in our history in terms of league finishes. When we did better (60's and 80's) it was with financial backing we could only dream of nowadays.

I'm not saying he was perfect but he was a damn good manager for this club.

Yeah you're right, we were terrible before he joined and it was a ship that needed steadying, but I think it all got just a bit too comfortable, league safety and the odd trip to Europe just isn't what I'd consider successful though.
Stability is secured, now we have to start competing , it's been far far too long.

If you mean why do I think FDB is more of a gamble it's his lack of experience in general and specifically in relation to the premiership in comparison to Koeman.

And Tuchel, Pereira & Ragnick. The first two are Definitely comparable to De Boer the only difference with Koeman is that he's managed in England. Don't think it's the big step up everyone's heralding to be honest.
