Nice bit of photo shopping there.

It will totally kick off if Mendes will be spotted at Goodison.

...already been spotted on COUNTY RD mate, bought 6 pots of KFC gravy, asked for them to be double-wrapped as well... then walked up to the B&M and came out with 3 - (yep, THREE) - FULL carrier bags of pure MOAM....nothing else, just that sweet, sweet candy...

Class that, that's a man who knows what he wants and goes RIGHT out and gets it.

I had a watch as a kid that told you how many feet above sea level you were, but it didn't work on the plane, so I had to be content with a small hill in Baden-Baden or something like that
Don't forget the waterproof to 10atm watch that you'd left the winder slightly out while changing the time, and knackered it when you got in the bath

The hand of those at Utd who want Mourinho will be considerably strengthened today if they officially fail to secure CL qualification which is likely. They will come under huge pressure internally and from the fans to be seen to act, as was the case with us this week. A possible F.A.Cup win is not enough to appease fans for a club of that stature.

It is somewhat like the situation we find ourselves in with Koeman, although I'm sure some Soton fans, of the type I've seen here, would no doubt find that hilarious.

United have to at some point definitively rule out an approach for Mourinho this summer for us to have any realistic hope. They hold the aces, and they know it. They can take as long as they wish to resolve the internal politics that may currently block an approach, and once those are overcome (today will be big in that respect, I imagine), they will formally conclude a deal with him very quickly.

On Koeman, it's him who holds the aces. He can stay there on an improved contract, and look at his options again next summer, or be tempted by the proposed transfer kitty and opportunity to further his reputation at Everton, and have a blank canvas. Obviously, he must resign from Southampton if he finds our overtures tempting enough, and again in that scenario, things would move quickly towards an appointment.

De Boer, on the other hand, is probably pressing his agent, and will be checking his phone every 10 minutes, when he returns from China. He would join us very readily I think, his backroom team and transfer targets being the only things that would require significant discussion.

This is a great summary mate and partly why I think we wanted to keep Martinez to the summer, to avoid the merry-go-round or at least put it off until decisions are made.

It's clear Mourinho is the top target. Manchester United may not act for a couple of weeks and it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume Mourinho will wait for them as his first option. From what I can see Koeman is our second option but again the earliest this would be decided is after the season. De Boer looks third choice and could move on now.

In the end someone will have to blink first. De Boer will not wait around forever and may take up Inter/Valencia if they become available. Likewise Koeman will have a date that he will meet Southampton's bosses and I imagine he will need/want to make a decision by a set period. He won't want to go into next season with one year on his deal. They may well both give us an ultimatum.
How Mourinho reacts to Everton giving him an ultimatum will be interesting. He probably rejects it but he has to be sure that the United job well come up (which looks far from a certainty, and less so if they can somehow get top 4).

As I said though, somebody somewhere will blink. Whether thats United saying they are keeping Van Gaal. De Boer going into negotiations, Mourinho giving United a time limit, Koeman signings a contract with Southampton etc something will move the merry-go around into action.

It will be pressured for Everton and probably easier had we have kept Martinez for a period. I think the most sensible thing the club could do is to get a win today and just say Unsworth will oversee first team coaching until a new manager is found. We will appear a bit less desperate that way. Strap yourselves in though, I think it will be an exciting few weeks and we won't be pitching up with Wigans manager in two weeks thats for sure!
