Anyone subscribe to the Athletic? There's a feature on there at the moment that allows you to run a fantasy offseason for your team - extend contracts, cut or trade players, sign FAs and it keeps track of the salary cap for you. Would love to give it a try but CBA to pay towards poor journalism.

I will have a look at later. I subscribe purely for its NFL coverage

carr to the saints, no real surprise there. doesnt really make them contenders for a superbowl, not sure why they dont just want a complete reset

They have to start somewhere. They're miles over the cap and will probably lose Marcus Davenport, Jarvis Landry and Andy Dalton in FA but they do have three draft picks inside the first 75.

It makes less sense from Carr's point of view. He's a solid QB, surprised he's not biding his time.

Carr has some issues but unless you are drafting the top QB or signing Lamar Jackson (both choices themselves have issues), this is the best possible outcome for the Saints. I'd still like to see them draft Hooker but I don't see Loomis spending that much draft/salary capital on the same position, he seems too programatic.

If it weren't for the Kamara/Thomas issues, we would already be building an irrational expectation for the upcoming season.

Jets have risked not going for Carr in the hope to get Rodgers.

Risky move that.

I find the NFL coverage to be miles better than what it does for the Premier League.

The NFL is its main market by the looks of it.
And @Tree13

The coverage of all the Major League sports in North America by The Athletic is excellent... it's their coverage of the PL that lets them down as they rarely run a PL story that isn't already known or out there via another source.

If you're into the NFL, NHL, MLB or NBA then a subscription to the Athletic is worth it.
If you're subscribing primarily for the PL, you're wasting your money.
In my opinion.

J E T S are a loser franchise, which is why they are chasing Rodgers

*Rodgers would have been great in Denver, but not sure where else. Maybe Dallas if Jerry would trade Dak for Rodgers straight up. Him leaving GB for another terribly-constructed team is madness.
