So it's Monday morning and the FA period begins today... lots of rumours flying around about the Chicago Bears being poised to make a splash. Ethan Pocic, Ben Powers, Mike McGlinchy and Dre'mont Jones all heavily linked over the weekend, which would suggest that there's a focus on beefing up the OL and DL - and rightly so given what we saw in the playoffs and the Superbowl.

If the Bears get FA right, they could well win the NFC North.

Mad that the Bears now have TWO linebackers who are as good / arguably better than Roquan Smith, for the same salary that Smith is now being paid by the Ravens.

Chicago needs to beef up the OL and DL now. And they have a decent budget to do so.

It's not really an argument you can make but go for it I guess

Yeah. Edmunds wasn't as good as Matt Milano who is in the same tier as Smith. We got to see them side by side. It's not really an argument imo.

Edwards idk, the Eagles regularly got eaten up over the middle but I also don't think that defense did enough to have guys be successful at times. I like Edward's at 5m. Edmunds at 15m I'm pretty lukewarm about.

Fwiw I love Smith the player but don't love Smith's deal and am going complete mad that the Ravens gave him the exact figures he wanted and are still trying to extract every last dollar from the Lamar deal. The Bears not signing him is totally fine but they aren't a better team for it at the minute.
