You realize the padding is why the game is so violent, right?

Let's just be chums and not have this silly argument.

Studies have shown however, that when people believe they are protected then they are more likely to act dangerously. For example, pedestrian deaths rose after airbags became common, because drivers were more likely to drive recklessly. Combined with the fact that helmets and pads do not protect against a number of terrible injuries, this leads to really bad stuff.

On top of that, the complete lack of endurance (or need for it) contributes to the dangers of American football. These people do everything at top speed, because they don't have to keep running - they get lots of breathers.

Not saying they are tougher, I don't think they are, but it's deffo more dangerous.

Pfft we can see it with our own eyes and personal experiences lid.

There's only American Football fans who think that American Footballers are tougher than Rugby players.

This was the point I was trying to make, but wasn't arsed enough to put it as so eloquently as you have. Not tougher, but a much more violent sport.
