You do know he scored twice today right?

Tubey, he scored two goals against a second string Championship side, that doesn't change the fact that he's gone so far off the boil he's practically frozen. Zero premier league goals in 11 months. Any striker, no matter how rubbish, will score at some point if they play enough.

I'm not trying do do the lad down, but this is a good point.

Good on him today, and I hope it sparks something in him, but I'm not holding out too much hope, especially since we're all comparing him to an immense Belgian.

Simple fact is if he's here come the next game, start him, if he's gash bring a fired up and well rested Lukaku on against Norwich, and maybe we will see Lukaku play like he did earlier in the year rather than the more tired looking version of right now, either way its a win win, anyone thinking playing Jelavic for one half to see what happens is gonna wreck our season is living in cloud cuckoo land, worst case that happens is we get a fired up half from Lukaku and a terrible one from Jela, best case we get Jela doing well followed by Lukaku realising he cant lay back and expect a start whatever his forms like

This is completely wrong way round, imo.

Lukaku has led the line at Everton in the PL to the position we now hold.

Are we really to accept that because Jelavic has bagged a couple against QPR in a cup match Lukaku has to step aside and allow Jelavic to become first choice?

It's madness.

There's no rhyme or reason for taking a proven success for us in the PL and replacing him with a proven failure.

I'm pretty certain of one thing: that wont be the attitude of the manager. I dont think there's any real chance Jelavic is started against Norwich....unless it's a formation created to include him and RL from the off. He defo wont displace our number one striker.

Thing is Brenna mate, you have to admit that currently Lukaku is not looking anywhere near as effective due to the amount of time he's playing, so why not whilst Jela will have a huge confidence boost give him the start, knowing unlike the other way around we have someone who can do serious damage to come on for him - arguably like at west brom last year its when he is still his most effective?

Jesus christ, the lad has scored two goals today and people are focusing on the fact that he missed a penalty, by literally a couple of inches. QPR had a good defence out, all players that have played in the premier league in the last couple of years, where's the positivity?!

But yes, of course, well done Jela, you took your goals well and you worked hard for the whole match, nobody wants you to come good more than me, I loved you for the first 6months of your Everton career, I held out hope for the whole of last Season, I even thought a change of Manager would be the spark you needed, but then you played and you made my eyes bleed.

WOH there.

They did not.

Did i say lets drop Lukaku permanently mate? what i said was to rest him as a starter for the Norwich game, other equally important players - Barkley, Mccarthy, Barry have not started as many games as Lukaku has and its madness to think that if were not careful we arent gonna end up with him breaking down or going SERIOUSLY off the boil at some point if its not managed well

If naismith and osman can get games instead of Barkley, Mirrales, then Jela can start ahead of Lukaku for the same reasons of rest and rotation mate
