Let's not forget that this team we played Had mostly premier league players. Jelavic has done well and seems to give something different to the team l by the sounds of the radio we played at a quicker pace than when we play with lukaku who holds the ball up. Either start him or start both of them. If he is going then is value will increase so we are not loosing anything by starting him especially with the form lukaku is in

Jesus christ, the lad has scored two goals today and people are focusing on the fact that he missed a penalty, by literally a couple of inches. QPR had a good defence out, all players that have played in the premier league in the last couple of years, where's the positivity?!

Theres some on here that have it in for him.

na na na na na na na na na na na Jela Jelavic Jelavic Jela Jelavic!!!!

Please don't go Jelavic, I know secretly your the bossest of the bossest slotters, I have visions of him running around Wembley waving the FA cup high above his head as he fires us to glory.

Did i say lets drop Lukaku permanently mate? what i said was to rest him as a starter for the Norwich game, other equally important players - Barkley, Mccarthy, Barry have not started as many games as Lukaku has and its madness to think that if were not careful we arent gonna end up with him breaking down or going SERIOUSLY off the boil at some point if its not managed well

If naismith and osman can get games instead of Barkley, Mirrales, then Jela can start ahead of Lukaku for the same reasons of rest and rotation mate

Yeah, but two things from the stuff in bold:

1) he was rested today. He's not going to be fatigued for that Norwich game.

...and following on from that...

2) It would be an effective dropping if he failed to start against Norwich because the judgement would be that Jelavic was in better form. I dont think a case can be made for it.

I understand the need to look fair and even handed, but it really wouldn't be even handed to take out a player who's been central to the way we play.

TBH, I've passed the point with Jelavic where he was given another chance to prove he can offer something. The evidence is there in spades he hasn't got it to offer in this league. I dont think he deserves another chance and our best bet is to sell him and get a player in who can offer something on a consistent basis.

More like "why the hell are you criticising an Everton player when he's just scored two goals FFS".

Because some are suggesting its now a great idea to start him over Lukaku

Lukaku has scored 27 goals in 12 months, has 9 league goals this season, Jelavic has 7 in the same time

But hey he scored 2 against the 3rd best team in the Championship so he's earned his spot hasn't he

Could argue the toss that today was an effective dropping of him mate, especially with the strength of team we put out following on from Martinez's comments, But everyone and his dog knows it wasn't like... same as everyone knows were keen to sell Jelavic, and same as no one in the entire squad will think its anything but rest and rotation to start him ahead of Lukaku next week if he is still here mate

The two games after the Norwich ones are the west brom away followed by the rs, both Massive games for Lukaku and us, having him fresh for those two is more important than worrying about some unwritten law that we can't start anyone ahead of him in a league game
