Come on mate, 'body language'? We all know what he's capable of. I think his fitness was a major issue. He gets a good pre-season in and away we go, clean sheet of paper.

Sorry dave, disagree. That boat has sailed. There's no way he should have a pre-season at Everton as first choice striker. He's 30 years old, hasn't done it often enough over his career to justify that faith and there's no reason whatsoever to buy a "backup" for Kone until he returns.

Kone is the backup striker at Everton no matter what for me. We have to be looking to buy a striker who is much more proven and younger.

Tubeys right, Kone has been ****e for the limited time he's played for us. But like he said he hopes he comes back better than ever and with the right attitude. He's got premier league experience so no reason to need a bedding in period when it comes to minimum requirement which is effort and attitude which he was severely lacking in both departments. Doesn't matter who the player is, if he's been ****e you gotta be honest and call it. If Barkley had been playing gash we would be saying it so I see no reason why Kone should be defended regardless of how many minutes he has played on the pitch. He's injured and when he comes back he better bust a gut and realise he ain't playing for the likes of Wigan anymore and this ain't no holiday camp!!

Fully agree with you tubes - for me Kone is the only thing Martinez has got wrong and he should be forgiven for it.

Seriously Dave, he looks like he cba all the time that i've seen him. At first I thought something like 'the pope's only just let him start eating properly again, and he must be weak/unfit', but he's yet to do anything to suggest otherwise to me.

*He also ruined my Mum whilst the was supposed to be injured

Demba Ba, £7m. That'd be a great signing. I know he hasn't had the best time at Chelsea but he's been disrupted badly by managerial changes.

Ba has everything we need in a striker - strength, technical skill, goalscoring ability, peak of his career, and we're at the right level to entice him.

If all gets agreed then all the best to Jelavic, for half a season he really had us believing. Who knows whether he was a 1 season wonder or if his confidence just needs building, either way a move is best for both parties.

Great to get our money back, and as others have said it makes the window more exciting now after Roberto's "finish the window stronger than we started" comments.

A clever loan and a really good first team starter and we'll be reinvigorated IMO

Bruce doesn't always get his man though,
Bruce has dealt his way through too many windows to be surprised by anything sent to challenge him. A year ago he watched DJ Campbell slip out for lunch and not return to sign a proposed contract (not that you will hear him complaining now) before further deadline day dejection followed on September 2 when Long slipped through his grasp at the 11th hour.

Sad to see him go... In spite of how poor he's been lately, always had a soft spot for Jelavic, and he always put a shift in.

However, the fee (if correct) is absolute daylight robbery - but we now DESPERATELY need to get a replacement in.

Roberto already said that priority #1 this window was replacing Koné - so it's now doubly vital that we bring in a striker (at least one) who can truly contribute.
