Demba Ba, £7m. That'd be a great signing. I know he hasn't had the best time at Chelsea but he's been disrupted badly by managerial changes.

Ba has everything we need in a striker - strength, technical skill, goalscoring ability, peak of his career, and we're at the right level to entice him.

Was agreeing with you all through the thread until I got to this

Sorry dave, disagree. That boat has sailed. There's no way he should have a pre-season at Everton as first choice striker. He's 30 years old, hasn't done it often enough over his career to justify that faith and there's no reason whatsoever to buy a "backup" for Kone until he returns.

Kone is the backup striker at Everton no matter what for me. We have to be looking to buy a striker who is much more proven and younger.

Oh I agree. That's what he has to be used as. I certainly wouldn't see him as a starter in Martinez's system.

Yeah but his knees might blow up if we sign him.

Was thinking that myself. Really hope this doesn't cost us the title.

Last minute, Jelavic pirouettes in the 6 yard box as the ball is whipped into him...Evertonians everywhere heave a huge sigh of relief: 'it's only Jela'...ball ends up in the North Sea.

Great buisness this, Potentially we've made about 13-14 mil from jelavic and anichebe. All we need to do now is find somone to pay us a few mil for naismith and we've completed the hattrick

He had more time than Lukaku to settle, more time than Deulofeu, more time than McCarthy etc. etc.

He hit the post, whoop dee doo. It wasn't an effort to get himself in that position or superior movement, it was sensational buildup play and his only job was to tap it into an empty net, which he fluffed. He also skied a sitter about six miles over the bar too.

He didn't pull his weight, that's my issue with him, and he showed no sign of doing so. I accept he needs time but if I'd have seen him at least running about and putting a shift in like he actually cared he's at a new club and needs to impress then I wouldn't be arsed about his misses. Before his injury, he literally did nothing.

Running about and putting a shift in.....the attitude holding back football in these parts for years. He seemed ok, had some good touches and looked like he will be a good link player. Has some pace. We will see.

I love how you finished off your comment with a grammatically awful Jamie Redknapp type phrase. Sums up the uselessness of this biased post.

Try using a bit of balance, as you are damning Kone on a short amount of time whilst praising Jelly despite a longer period to judge him on.
