Didn't he?.

Stones went for £50m

We bought

Williams £12m
Gueye £7m
Bolasie £28m
Sket £1.5m
Morgan £24m
Lookman £12m
DCL £1.5m

Which is close to £100m.

We only got 40m for stones. But there will of course be the massive amounts coming in for Niasse, Cleverly and Del. They were as good as sold when we started buying in the Jan transfer window...

Different window tho. He still invested £50m into transfers last season aswell as all the Stones money.

I know mate, i was just being facetious. I don't subscribe to the doctorate that he hasn't invested. Even now Lukaku could end up with 2 broken legs tomorrow, if you have to spend to buy you do it the other way around, as you never know what is coming.

Be careful DaveK will call you "Completely naive" with talk like that. Like he called me earlier.

Already had that dozens of times. :p

You never know he may turn out to be Nostradamus and be completely right (in the long term) but for now the evidence points squarely that he is wrong. Not by net spend so much but by the administration side, the clearing of the debt and plans for the stadium, the improvement in the team between the end of the season before last to now. Nothing's changed my arse.

That's the thing his utter contempt to accept things are changing and for the better thus far is amazing. That and his ultra negative views on new signings and well just about everything the club has done so far

Ask Leeds United the value of spending big
You should read David O Learys book about his time as Leeds Manager.
He used to give Risdale a list of players he was interested in and let Risdale do the dealing.
He paid nearly twice Derbys asking price for Seth Johnson
But the biggie was the wages.
Johnson was on 10 k ( or thereabouts ) at Derby.
Before the meeting Johnsons agent said to him
Let me do the talking I'll try and get you 20k a week
Opening gambit Risdale says
30k a week
Johnson shouts out WHAT
Risdale says 32k a week that's my final offer.
We have to be careful how we spend

Christ. That's scary. Can just see Bill now having to be gaffer taped at the gob and locked in a backroom before any negotiations.
