Arsed about the talk of how much we spent right now with question marks over the future of Lukaku and Barkley still.

No point talking about net spend until the window has finished. Are we honestly going to do this after each deal?

When I look at he quality and the type of players we have signed I have to ask myself, on an individual basis would we not have been able to sign these players without Moshiri being here? I don't see one, apart from maybe Klaassen that we couldn't have attracted here before. Two lads from teams below us in the league who are good but not good enough to have the top teams falling over themselves to sign them first. Young striker from Belgium with a reasonable release clause. Maybe there's an argument to be made for Sandro but let's face it he probably would have gone to Atletico if he could have this summer.

What he has done is allowed us to balance the cash flow for these deals while we wait on the TV money and sales revenue to come in. He's also brought in a DoF structure which seems to be showing its value in enabling us to proceed with improving the squad in a timely manner and helping us avoid possible panic buys later in the window as we miss out on targets due to cash flow issues.

As I said in the Keane thread though, once he builds that Stadium he can name it after himself for all I care. I might even name one of my children Farhad in his honor I'm so excited about that.

This really!

No, show ambition: that keeps them here.
I think this fella has me on ignore but I'll answer this anyway.
What on Earth do you think we've been doing this past 6 months or so? New Stadium in the works? Ambition. New part owner with bags of cash and a successful business mind? Ambition. Over 70 million quid spent before June is out, spending on an UNPRECEDENTED scale for Everton? Ambition.

We've been doing all that and Rom still wants to go. Nowt to do with us. He has a boner for Chelski and that's all there is to it.

Its almost like some folk have an agenda isnt it?

Maybe.

Maybe not.

Fact is, we have spent £90m in a week or so,

Cant do that on a wing and a prayer that our valuation of two players will be met.

Be like buying a new house before you sell your old one.
...nevertheless, you *know* we wont be spending a £100M without clawing most of it back, right....?

That's defo part of the model, but the model has changed in that we'll also now be buying players with the hope that there'll be good enough to make the first team, but, if they're not, then we're be looking to turn a profit on them. It's a model which Chelsea have used very successfully to increase their revenue, and, though it's easy to sneer at anything and everything, if it's successful, then, in four or five years time we'll be in a much better place.

Obviously even if we are in a much better place people will still find things to moan about, but moaners like to moan and screamers like to scream. I'm quite keen on both moaners and screamers, but I may be veering off-topic here
How is that a departure from what we've always tried to do?!

We've already improved in defence and we've already improved in midfield from Martinez's squad, whether we improve up front is down to the market and Lukaku making a decision. Koeman's signings have been fine so far.

No, I dont.

I do know we have spent it though. If Rom/Ross etc chip off, fine. They both have contracts on the table. They could both be signed on Monday. (Doubtful, granted).

But nevertheless. We have spent a bundle, in a week, without selling a player of note.

Had worse weeks, but carry on.

I bet theres people just sitting there, with a calculator, wondering why they keep having to press + and hoping that soon there will be some -.

As I maintain, every penny we have spent so far has been from our very own cash reserves, when the sales start, then we will try and spend that money as well, but theres no point just buying players so YA DAR can point at our net spend.

The squad will be filled out in all the right places, we will build a squad able to compete in all 4 comps we enter this season.

Thats all that matters.

Well just roughly.

80m loan from Mosh.

10m fraud payments
45m debts
5m Ronny
5m 5 star steve
15m shortfall from last years accounts

-10m

Geris sale

Zero sum

Wages 85m
minus savings made in January 10m
55m "profit" from tv money
20m Sponsorship increase
15m Europa League

100m
Pickford 30m
Klaasen 24m
Keane 31m
Sandro 5m
