The reason that there is not much video footage of the Alex Young and Alan Ball in their prime was due to Harry Catterick: he believed the opposition would benefit from seeing us in action and he did all he could to obstruct and prevent Everton games (or training sessions) being televised. Very sad that succeeding generations of Blues have been denied from seeing without doubt our greatest post-war players on film.

Maybe he had a point. Forced Shankly to go as far as actually buying a house that overlooked Bellefield......
