My late father came from Vauxhall road, just off Scotland road - a strong catholic area - I asked him was it rough he stated the coppers walked in pairs in that area in his day .....

My dad was very young during the war. He lived in Birkenhead and one of his earliest memories is looking across the water and seeing all the fires in Liverpool after an air raid.
That is awesome. Will show my old man, next time up with him, he will love this. Thanks for sharing.

….my mother-in-law lived in the city centre during the blitz (she’s 94 now). Tells me how the boys collected shrapnel on the way to school after a nights bombing. She said the bombers flew quite low down the river, you could see their silhouette clearly.
