…I lived nearby off Everton Rd and they were by us on the derelict land (ollers). They‘d come into entry by our back yard & my old mum painted ‘this is not a toilet’ on the back wall.

…..the only prefabs I remember were on Prescot St, opposite the previous Royal Hospital site. They were only supposed to be temporary after the WW2 blitz but were there until late 60s because I went past them on my walk to junior school. I think they were built with asbestos.
….1950s Leyfield Rd, looking back towards where The Bulldog Pub now is. During the war, troops were based behind the houses on the left. A old woman noticed a bloke in her garden looking at the barracks, the police came and got him and the story goes he was a German spy;

Huyton village top one 1920
It was a lovely village when I was a kid ...... The Picture house was named the Ranch as it always showed Cowboy films - a lovely building though - The Majestic - art deco in style ..... Huyton Clinic you had to be a hard knock to go in there - teeth pulling knocked out by gas - feet no anaesthetic - etc not far from the butchers lol
