….remembering when Public Services were so good. Liverpool Park Police, disbanded 1972;
….Gregsons Well pub in the distance. All changed there now with Erskine industrial estate. I remember running out the back yard of a girls house behind those shops on the right when her parents came home early.

Public service indeed.
When Buses and Trains didn't stop at 5pm on new years eve - just when you needed them as a public service.
It was your job, it fed your family, put a roof over your head.
If NYE was on Thurs and you were on afternoons, it was the luck of the draw - you drove your bus.
Despite my protests I was taken there every Saturday morning by my mother when I was a child in the early 60s.
My girlfriend {now wife} loved going there with her Mum - great for me as I went to the match - never once went there I believe it was brilliant in its pomp -

…exactly as I thought. We lived the other side of Everton Rd & when our houses were demolished our next door neighbour moved into those. They were newly built, probably about 1970.
