It goes to show it's not as simple that we don't get the best players even with the extra TV money but rather it just goes out to all the foreign clubs that hit the lottery selling to a premiership club which then goes to strengthening their leagues.

If he'd scored 23 goals, he wouldn't have signed for Sevilla. One bad season doesn't make a career.
