No wonder team morale is so low. We seem to have swapped a hard working pro (with snide) for somebody who can't play at this level (yet/ever).
If this isn't a money laundering exercise to a russian bank account linked to the new majority shareholder - then it makes no sense.

I'm not gonna truly judge him till a decent run of games. Was a bit pointless flogging Nessi as we've needed him. Plus he apparently was popular with the guys too- not that I'd keep him around just for that, thank you Norwich very much x

On the bright side, the 13.5m spent was prior to the Moshiri 100m :)
I guess this is what vexes me a little (in empathy with your good self). ASS struggled massively under impecunious circumstance. Imagine how large you could have made your ASS, (and how many more members it might have accommodated), with just a bit more moolah.

I always look to accommodate, my fine dinner table conversationalist friend. It is the Greek in me. We bend over backwards.

Would Niasse be under such scrutinism if we were doing good and competing for CL-places?

Seems to me he´s just another stick to beat the manager with.

I don't think he's under scrutiny or receiving criticism - or scrutinism, as you say (should be a word) - I just think people find it funny he runs with a football like this, and are correctly laughing at him for it.

The point of a January window is to strengthen your existing squad

Naisse cost the 3rdhighest amount we have ever paid for a team member. He is patently, at best, unfit. At worst he had a purple patch in Russia and is reverting to type here.

If we needed a squad replacement for the second half of season it should have been a player who was ready to slot in

I'm glad I'm not alone in bursting out laughing at his antics, It did cheer me up. Struggling to think of a signing that looked worse?, I'll give him time but he's shown very little in his cameos so far, I'm thinking the real Naise is tied up in some cellar somewhere and this guy has turned up posing as a footballer.

I'm not saying Niasse is a good buy or a good footballer - he might be, who knows. Maybe he´s not.

I'm not saying that he should not be scrutinised or criticised for his performances or lack of.

I'm simply saying that I think he would have a lot more slack from the supporter on here if we were doing good in the league and playing beautiful togger.

If you think it would be the same - I'll respect that point of view, but disagree with you.

I'm thinking of Carroll too when I see that gif...

It's used as a stick to beat the manager with because it is exactly that. The latest in a long line of strange managerial decisions that you would need a Giant Redwood to create enough sticks for. He wudn't get criticism if we were doing well because we wud cut him some slack and have faith he knew what he was doing. As it is, the majority of us now don't. Niasse could turn things round but the point about the West Ham substitution is a great one. If he has not been fit since he got here, why wud Martinez put him on in that situation? That is a bad game management and so adds to the pile of "sticks".
