This exact approach ultimately cost Moyes his job, and now because some Dutch bloke who could hit a ball dead hard does it and he's considered a genius. You couldn't make it up.

We are Everton, 11th place two seasons in a row. Can't believe people are so deluded they expect us to go out against the best side in the league and start playing olé football ripping them to pieces. Get real.

Another thing I blame Martinez for, giving EFC fans unrealistic expectations & pipe dreams when we haven't the squad to back it up, not in the slightest... Made it worse listening to his smoke blowing when he couldnt even live up to the expected expectations of 5th to 7th spot finishes. Anyway, back on topic, going by that presser today Koeman has been royally pissed off by Niasse... Wonder if he's a bad attitude or if it's to do with his personal life, beating his Mrs etc. Odd situation for sure

Nobody considered him a genius. If Moyes was lucky enough to ever have a Lukaku, he would have had more top four appearances. Winning football isn't always pretty; Mourinho didn't win those titles because of pretty football. Get another player with Barry's composure that can close down and a creator that doesn't cost the team with his inconsistency, and he will be able to play more expansive football. As good as Barry is, he will always have to play deep against the pacier sides.
It's funny how opinions change. Towards the end of Moyes' tenure 99% of Evertonians were saying they didn't care if we finished 14th as long as we made a good go of the cups etc... So we get in a Manager who does that but better and he gets chased out of here and called the worst manager in our history.
Good contribution m8.

I can imagine the staff who report the U23's players who are playing well to Koeman.

"This Senegalese lad has been scoring for fun, bagged a hattrick this week - Oumar his name is - worth a place on the bench"

But seriously - Niasse must have done something pretty bad to again shoot him down after his current form. Well I hope he has, because this would mean Koeman is too stubborn/

Nothing cost Moyes his job at Everton, he simply arranged with Ferguson that he would 'resign' from Everton and take the Man Utd job, because Ferguson told him to. Unfortunately(?) for Everton Moyes omitted to tell Everton for 6 months that he was going to United. If Fergie had not told him 'you're the next United manager' he might still be at Everton. The one person we have to thank for getting the dull ,limited tactically Moyes out of Everton is Sir Alex Ferguson.

If a grown man scoring goals against children is a criteria for success , will future title winning teams feature squads comprising beer bellied middle aged Dads?
