Does anyone think that starting with Niasse and Sandro could actually be the way forward? Their pace and pressing could be perfect on the counter. I don't think that combo has been tried yet and unfortunately Sandro is in danger of going the same way as Niasse did initially. He is like our version of Okazaki, but actually scores goals!! Just think it could solve a lot of the problems with the squad imbalance and be the magic formula...

I was re-watching the Cup match highlights against Sunderland and agree with you 100%. Forgot how good Sandro actually looked in that game

despite looking like he's never touched a weight, he's actually got a lot of strength and physicality to pair with great pace. what he lacks technically is made up with a huge work rate and the exact sorts of physical attributes that see average players perform in the premier league. it's incredible how he has turned from deadwood into an asset for us.

Greta post Phil If there's anyone that doesn't love the fella to absolute bits then I seriously think there's something not right with you. His attitude is absolutely exemplary....in fact beyond exemplary. He just oozes commitment and passion... this lad seroiously values his opportunity at Everton and is trying to make the most of every single second he gets in the RBJ. That interview sums up,what I want my Club and its players to be like.

I don't claim to be a ref or an expert on the rules of the game but on many occasions I have seen referees book players for things where the referee has played an advantage and when the ball goes dead long after the fact. On those occasions no foul was given and yet a penalty was applied. Why would this not be the case in this example?

Yes, it was a foul but the referee rightly did not whistle it (played an advantage) and the goal was scored as a result.

The law you are suggesting should have been utilized for a send off in this incident falls under the category of "Denial of a Goal Scoring Opportunity" or commonly referred to as a DOGSO by referees. As the the ball ended up in the back of the net despite a foul being committed, the DOGSO law is not applicable in this situation. Therefore, the referee was absolutely correct in not issuing a red card, even retrospectively (after the goal).

Think of it this way.. You are a defender on your goal line. The ball strikes your arm but still goes into the back of the net. Are you sent off for this incident? No. Because the goal was scored, there was no denial of a goal scoring opportunity even though there was a handball.

Tbf, there is something visually unusual about the way Oumar plays football.

Lukaku's poor touches had a logic to them, they bounced more or less in the direction you thought they would. Oumar's poor touches birth a cosmic divergence of realities where the ball exists in an infinitude of states, collapsing only under collective observation into a single possibility that somehow ends at his feet.
