It wasn't a dive though. He ran into someone and made the most of it. He didn't intentionally stick his leg out to be tripped like Jamie Vardy does every week. Nor did he kick his own leg from under him like Ashley Young. How they deem this one to be the most obvious deception of the season so far blows my mind, do they never watch Alexis Sanchez? Aguero? Dele Ali?

It was a clear simulation lads and if you don’t think so then you would cheer Dalglish wearing a Suarez t shirt.
At the risk of being Azul'd:

The reaction to the contact was absolutely simulation. He over egged the pudding.
But is the question not whether there was contact or not? If so, can it be a dive?

I am genuinely not sure.

Quick example:

Player 1 gets no contact and goes down. Dive.
Player 2 puts his body in the way of his opponent, draws contact and goes down. Dive?
Player 3 gets contact from proactive action of opponent, embellishes reaction. Dive?

We are going to get unceremoniously trounced mate, no result has ever been more certain in football history.
You are probably right mate but in my heart i would like to believe that we can beat anyone - also law of averages would say we've got to beat them sometime ;)

Typical that it's us who's getting this treatment, the amount of games I've seen were opposition players have dived in the box and got away with it. Makes me more angry it's clattenburg who was most vocal when he's stitched us up so many times.

There were no legs involved, he felt a brush off a finger and floored himself

On the 13-man panel are Nigel Adkins, Rachel Brown-Finnis, Terry Butcher, Lee Dixon, Alex McLeish, Danny Murphy, Chris Powell, Trevor Sinclair, Keren Barratt, Steve Dunn, Mike Mullarkey, Alan Wiley and Eddie Wolstenholme.

The names of the three-man panel will only be made public if a player is retrospectively punished for diving and the FA hand out their written reasons for the ban.

I would like the FA to define the term DIVE. To me a dive is no contact made yet the player still falls to the floor claiming contact. (see Dele Alli, Zaha or Ashley Young for examples). What Niasse did was feel contact and then exaggerate his fall like most strikers do and like like most strikers are told to do. If they are charging him with that, exaggeration then he has a case to answer but he didn't dive
Exactly. A 'dive' is simulating contact, which clearly didn't apply to Niasse.

If the charge was applied for the fact that the 'theatrical' fall is what caused the ref to give the penalty then that, in many ways, is an even bigger joke. When would referees ever have to be accountable for their decisions then?!

It was a dive and he deserves a ban end of story!!!

Don't think anyone can deny he goes down when there isn't enough contact to make him go down, it's all about consistency though mate, there have been plenty of incidents this season of players dropping with minimal contact, and nothing has been done, saying that though, considering some of the worst ones have been from Spurs (Alli) Man City players (Aguero, Sterling) shows how this new thing is going to pan out.
