Honestly not sure what Potter would do with this squad - given the clubs perilous finances is now really the time for an experiment like that ?

I think it's really important to look at how Brighton have done since Potter left - they aren't in oblivion - they are going well - which tells me Potter was only one part of the puzzle.

That said, he managed and sold Maupay - amazing.

I guess we'll see over the next few games - what I've got from this thread is there isn't an obvious replacement for the here and now.

I don't think he is the best person for the job tbh and on top of that he doesn't seem in any great hurry to return to football, he has been linked with a number of jobs but taken none as of yet.

He rejected Napoli and Ajax for example, 2 clubs most managers would choose over Everton currently.

I don't see him suited that much either, despite we need someone to achieve with us what he did with Brighton to build up the club and get it higher season for season.

I think what we saw on Saturday is that (contrary to what the Dyche fans have always told us) - we do actually have players than can play football. These players don’t want to be hoofing it, they want to be passing the ball.
Agree with this, I can understand when Benitez said this because at the time our first 11 was terrible but not we have a great 11-14 players than can play decent football.

Dyche fans just use the 'look at the players he's working with' excuse

Tim and Ndiaye will help a lot to make us better, still technically we are far from the best teams in the league.

It's how we should play. Don't care whether we have 40 or 60% possession, but intensity was there, be defiant towards the opponent, fight hard in duels. Stand stable at the back, press them when the chance, play direct forward.

Being a bit harsh on Potter here tbh.

I agree he wasn't the sole reason they are doing well, they are very good at transfers.

However, he went in and changed the whole philosophy at the club, didn't they have some bore like chris Houghton before he took over? Completely changed everything about yhe way they play football, managers have gone in since and done well, but would they have been able to do the job they did without him building ghat team? I doubt it

I'd love Potter myself, not a chance he would come currently though, he would when we get new owners and he's still out of a job, money talks and we honestly couldn't get any worse

Edin Terzic, Stefano Pioli, Roger Schmidt all out of work. Absolutely no need to go straight to Moyes with a begging bowl and let him think that he’s doing us a favour.

We need a proper lift, not Moyes who is the dourest bloke on earth.
Pioli would be nice, he's learning English, finishing 4-2-1-2 with Milan seems historically not too good.

But they were 6-10 before him. Brought the team out of a hole again after almost a decade.
