There is no way he would join us ,he has not got the bottle .I would have him just to wind up the kopites when they visit the city at weekends:lol:

Baines was signed for 3 - 4.5m and his price can only have gone down or stayed the same at best. There about equal in price i would say

Was £6m mate. Initial £5m, rest add-ons.

Baines price is higher at the moment, most definitely. The newspapers this morning are branding about £1.5m for Owen at the moment - Newcastle wont want to receive nothing - none of the top 4 want him and the rest cant afford his wages so wouldn't pay much.

[Shudders] 6m! Jeez.

It can only have gone down after a rather fruitless 2 yrs

Shouldn't imagine so to be honest. Still only 23 and he hasn't been out much with injuries. I suspect bids would be around the £5m mark?

Couldnt see us accepting any less than what we paid for him, i cant see us wanting rid so badly, if we got a bid that we couldnt turn down, well you never know. But we need players in, we cant afford to sell anybody, unless its a youngster.

We got 5 million for Faddy and 11 million for AJ so anything is possible. I'm sure we could get 5 million for Baines despite him being squad player.

So at a time when we have 4 strikers out injured we should get in an expensive past it injury prone money grabber?

Don't think so. Sure he will probably get us a few goals if he plays but chances are he will be on silly wages and get injured again.

Just not worth it, there are cheaper more reliable forwards out there who will do just as well as Owen in 2009.

and this from a player who has been in and out through injury, playing with a [Poor language removed] demotivated newcastle team under three or four different managers, after losing the pace of his younger years.

he's simply world class at putting it in the back of the net.

Agree...

...Yes hes had his injurys, but he is playing at the moment, and looks to be getting fitter. He is a top class finisher - and to have a finisher that good at that price is sensational.
