Phil Neville - your thoughts now?

You might want to study your little table in a bit more detail as well. He has the worst passing statistics of the lot of them, and there is no mention of assists or 'starting moves', neither of which are a fundamental part of defensive proficiency anyway.

In fact he has the worst passing percentage, despite making the second lowest amount of successful passes, and he is miles behind the amount of successful passes made by Barry, Parker and Song.
So only the stats that suit you tell a story, okay then, and neville was a huge part of utds success, with every sub appearence counting as a motm performance, your on great form here

lol I just thought it was funny the way you were waxing lyrical about his passing stats on your little chart, only to find out that he actually has the crappest passing stats on your little chart lol .

I've made my point about your chart's inability to document a player's reading of the game, or the tracking of runners, and it is a valid one. I can't be arsed doing it again, to be honest.

We clearly don't see eye-to-eye on the defensive proficiency of Marouane 'Im-being-kept-out-of-the-side-by-Tom-Cleverly' Fellaini, but I suggest that we leave it at that.

See ya :bye:

Just something a little birdie told me

That's quite some feat, given that Cleverly is playing for a completely different club.

I think people are confusing the Phil Neville who played for Man Utd and the waste of space that joined us.

In the late 90s he was a good player, he did play a lot for United (and England), was flexible, a bit of pace and a good pass on him. Was he as good as Fellaini? That's impossible to say, different positions (Neville played a lot at right mid/full back), different styles etc. Most probably not.

I can happily admit he was a good player for United. For us, he was the worst captain to ever wear the armband.
