everyone saying he’d demand $150k a week but James could have asked for that and didn’t. We don’t know how much he’s going to ask for.
Bernard is on $100k for goodness sakes.
also our last few signings have been around $70k according to sportrac. Allan, doucoure, Ben Godfrey.
....we lack pace, athleticism and mobility in Central midfield, Coutinho lacks pace, athleticism and mobility in central midfield. We have injury prone and costly central midfielders, Coutinho is an injury prone and costly central midfielder.
Coutinho is talented but I’d much prefer us to bring in the types of player we need.
Did you read the reply? Coutinho with other signings. Squad improvement. To say he offers virtualy nothing is ridiculous. We had all this when signing rodriguez.
not true. Doucoure and Allan both have that. We have quite a lot of pace and mobility in the tam. What we lack is quality
And looks what happened when they’ve been injured; look at our right wing option, look at our right fullback options.not true. Doucoure and Allan both have that. We have quite a lot of pace and mobility in the tam. What we lack is quality
Two kopites I know were absolutely gutted Coutinho left, even for the money they got. However that was 3 years ago. He’s suffered loss of form and injuries since then. Of course if he can replicate his form for Liverpool, he’s walk into any top 4 team apart from city, but it’s a big if.Golly, this is so depressing. I asked a RS friend last night for his opinion on Coutinho and he said he is a very good player. Yet above I read that he is injury prone, too expensive for just a squad player, no pace or mobility, offers virtually nothing, he is being forced on Carlo by malign influences etc. What on earth is Carlo doing? Or is most or all of the above negativity just claptrap?
We don't have a lot of pace really.
i honestly dont understand the athelticism thing. I watched Bayern dominate Europe last season with Thiago and Gortzeka in CM, Liverpool dominated England with Henderson, Fabinho and Wjinildum
and the best club side i've ever seen with Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets.
You win football matches on a consitant basis by winning the ball back as quick as possible, as high up the pitch as possible. Not by have 2 usian bolts playing CM
And looks what happened when they’ve been injured; look at our right wing option, look at our right fullback options.
What you want to do is add another slow, neat passing midfield who does not have the dynamism to break opposition lines. So when a team like Burnley rock up, we’ll have 99% of possession with actually doing nothing.
You’ve just lost the entire argumentfor a start Coutinho isn't slow. Another 'neat' passing midfielder? You do realise the game we lost against Burnley this season was when all our 'neat' midfielders with no 'dynamism' were out injured.
we do. DCL, Richarlison, Doucoure, Digne, Coleman.
What we don't do is move the ball quick enough and find gaps so they can use that pace
