I cant see how it can be ignored, he leads with his forearm and actually connects, it's coming to something when something that has been outlawed in superleague for years goes unpunished in a p.l. game.

Me thinks he's been watching a certain Mr. A Morley on sky.

If he had tangled with him and pushed with 2 hands in the back then that would've been more of a natural collision than to lift a forearm and go into the back of his head. As i say, in rugby you can use an open hand to push someone away in a tackle but as soon as it becomes a forearm then it's illegal, would love to see Johnny smash him with his, but that would undoubtedly get a 10 match ban.
A Mr Davies of Arsenal got just that a while ago, so it's not like there isn't a precedent.

Atwell has not seen what has gone on, at least when you look at this clip:

[media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtksxQSNmYU[/media]

Hopefully a wider angle will emerge soon from the media that shows what he was looking at when the foul was committed, but when he comes into shot in this clip (half a second after Saint Stevie hits Brown) he is not looking at them - he is looking at Rodriguez, then turns his head as he notices Brown on the floor - when he gives the foul.

I wasn't even aware of last nights result until I looked inside the paper I purchased earlier.

I guess I just couldn't give a fig about red [Poor language removed] sometimes.

I was under the impression Gerrard is supposed to a goodwill ambassador for all that is British football.

make of that what you will.

It's a technicality they the referee 'already punished' the player by awarding a free kick. That was dangerous play - a blow to the back of the head. The FA had the option of "asking" (in reality - telling) the ref to look at the incident again and confirm he'd made a mistake. There was no will there to do that.

You can imagine the faux outrage there'd be if/when the box headed [Poor language removed] gets injured and all four corners of a stadium stood up and jeered the **** off on a stretcher. It'd be totally justified given his continued escape from justice - on and off the pitch.

Immidiate substitution? And a Raffa handshake and pat on back?

Coincidence.

****** stinks to me.

You have to question the refs judgment big time. Has he just seen n off the ball, violent incident, given a foul for it and not done anything about it ie taken action according to the rule book he's supposedly getting paid to uphold?

If so, then why havent the FA gone..."hold on a minute. If he thinks that incident was handled well then he's got another thing coming" and investigated him and the incident?

But no, itll be forgotten about next week. Corrupt set of [Poor language removed].

As for GBH. What a shithouse. What an absolute ******** shithouse of a player who'd snidely hit a player in the back of the head while he wasnt looking, when his team were 3-1 up against a team bottom of the league.

If ya gonna do it, do it properly and not like a shithouse.

Shithouse...

No. Class. Just like their fans. But its expected really after the DJ incident wasnt it?

Didnt Huth get a 5match ban for less than that? Turner for Sunderland get a straight red for actually going for the ball and elbowing Barry in the face unintentionally?

Granted MB is a total [Poor language removed] but that elbow was 100X worse than Arteta's.

In fairness like, superb elbow. Hate to say it but to quote the azula who just watched it with me "I've seen you do far worse on a football pitch".

Bad snide you....probably getting skinned all over the show:lol:

GBH didnt even get booked for it. Its like the ref just went "now, now Stevie. Pack it in. On ya way." He might as well have roundhoused him, he still would've got away with it
