Unfortunately for some Kenwright has done more for the club than all those who spout their bile on him and many other aspects of the club.
On balance has he done more good than bad? the answer is a resounding YES
Is this pole because he wants to try to help a young man who lost his way, very sad lives some live.
What are you on about? This poll was set up at the start of the month. What's it got to do with Baxter?

Moyes kept us afloat on his own at points during his tenure. I would not say we were "stable" thanks to Kenwright, he saddled us with massive debt.

Who employed him?
Who stuck by him?

So consistent top half finishes and holding out for silly money for our better players is not stable?

The debts were there well before he took over. They are not there now.

True this, a lot of owners over the last 15 years have had a revolving door on the managers office, which has caused several teams long term problems, but Everton wasnt one of them, which could be why we are one of the six sides to never get relegated from the Premier League, despite being skint.

Stabilty for a club with little to spend is vital as a new manager always wants to spend. Kenwright and Moyes were a partnership, they worked together, and they kept us in a position that made us an attractive proposition for Moshiri to pick up.

Bill saw us through our most desperate times and we should be forever grateful for what Bill Kenwright has done for this great club ............Waiting for the resident kopites to descend...................:bye:

Kenwright employed Moyes so he deserves credit for that. But saying he deserves credit for consistent top half finishes doesn't make sense, Moyes worked wonders delivering that with what he was given to work with. And of course Bill was going to stick by him, as long as he had us avoid relegation he was doing exactly what Kenwright wanted.

The debts trebled in 10 years after Kenwright took charge. Why do you think they're not there anymore mate?

It wasnt just because of Moshiri coming in if thats what you are getting at?

We had a lot of problems money wise which is why there wasnt a lot of money to invest in the squad, anything that came in from player saes was put back into the team.

I would much prefer Kenwright's approach to dealing with money problems rather than a Leeds united for example. Simple fact is we couldnt afford to invest much but a good a partnership with Moyes ensured that we came through it.

I get why people are not Kenwright fans, dont get me wrong. What I dont get is those who fume about him, he did what he could and kept us ticking over nicely. He didnt get everything right, but who does? Must admit though my utter disdain for the BU probably raises my opinion of Kenwright somewhat.

I believe that Kenwright steered Everton through some sticky times, his very conservative approach has brought us to where we are. He probably was what was needed at a time. However we are now told that a brand new era has dawned and we have a rich backer willing to invest. Maybe the conservative approach is now an anchor holding us back.

Leeds. Portsmouth. Blackburn. Newcastle. Aston Villa. Hull City. Wolves. Coventry. Northampton. Blackpool. Sunderland. Tranmere. Luton. Wimbledon. Derby. Notts Forest. Birmingham. Cardiff. Bolton. Bury. Lincoln. Wrexham. Torquay. York. Hereford. Kidderminster. Darlington. Stockport. Still in top 7 clubs out of 5,300 in England and in the top 30 in the world.
Kenwright hasn't done too bad a job with very limited funds when you look around.

If Moshiri wanted to get rid of Kenwright he could do it very easily by buying a few more shares. People on this and other forums never seem to listen, Moshiri said it was Kenwright that sold the club to him. Kenwright does seem to be marmite to evertonians , but think he has been fantastic, possibly the greatest Evertonian who never played.

Good lord

They say you get what you deserve. Well we certainly don't deserve success judging by some of the absolute tripe in this thread.

All we need now is for Phil Neville to sign up and post "it's a wonderful achievement for a small club like everton to avoid relegation "
