All my life when teams were layed out, the right back was always placed first in the list before the centre backs. On here it seems the left back is always named first
example..
Robles
Baines, Stones, Jags, Coleman
From the birds-eye view in which these layouts were meant to represent, Baines would be right back. Wrong.

When did the rules change and why did nobody tell me?

Protect the top men against the RS crockers. They will be on a sabotage mission.

Is that not to do with squad numbers?

They read the team out in numerical order rather than the positions.

It is very confusing when the entire forward's name appears on the team sheet ahead of the left back.

thing is mate, i agree and yet disagree at the same time if that makes any sense at all.

Got to factor in momentum of players, get a hammerign in the derby and the entire teams morale with drop - also dropping a striker whose going neck and neck for the top scorer award is not gonna do him any favours either, a lot will depend on the 4 games prior to the derby ofc, but say we go on a really good run of results up till then, it could harm us more suddenly dropping half the squad or more for some percieved advantage it will give us in the cup game

remember that Sudnerland game and how flat we looked when we rested most the squad for the derby, also remember the replay when the game 3 days before it we played our first team and in the replay we looked terrific so think a lot of the theory behind resting players is flawed really

I don't care about resting them per se. I think it's better to have momentum than an extra few days rest.

I'm just convinced a RS will snap one of our key players, or their pact with the devil will strike and Rom will do his hamstring when clean through on goal. Not to mention suspensions from cards.

What if their pact with the devil strikes him while he's sat on the bench? What if he gets a poisoned packet of quavers at half time?

I'd personally leave Lukaku out (as opposed to rest) of this one simply to guard agaisnt injury.

There's a fine line between paranoia and sensible precaution. Up to Bobby to find it!

Theirs always that chance mate, then again could get someone in the saints game going throughone of ours the weke before, or have to play united soon so could see one fo theirs equally leave one in on rom or ross etc, end of the day i still think we should be going into every game to win and playing our best team, absolutely hate it when teams do a city in the cup for example from the other week

pretty sure that west ham wont leave payet out thier mid week game before the cup as well, so us doing so with some of ours just smacks of an evertonian mentality i hope we can start putting int he past - the eternal pesimist one, i want to go out and beat them at the pit for the first time in 17 years or so, not go and gift klopp a first derby win at the first time of asking - we need the cup - but we also need to shake the rs monkey from the players sooner or later as its getting ridiculous now

Our second xi should be good enough to deal with that lot. Easily the weakest rs side in my lifetime. Genuinely no idea how they're ahead of us.

Can, Henderson, sahko, Moreno, Milner, skrtl etc... All cart horses.

That Hendo mutant will have evil intent to become the new stevie g and he knows the best way to do that will be to snap a few ligaments. Can't take the risk.

West Ham are going for the champions league, payet would be rested if they were bottom half like us.

You talk like there's not much difference between the 2 games
But in my eyes they are miles apart. We went to anfield 2 years ago, full of confidence, our strongest team and got battered.

I want us to go and win their, but potentially we have another game two and a half days later. Which could go the extra time.

We could rest 6/7 players and still have a team full of internationals. I keep hearing what a great squad we have, let's use it.

undone by quavers..everton that

i think another problem is players playing 'within themserves' to prevent injury which can also actually cause injury..

its a tricky one

Mate when we got batterd we didn't have our strongest team out by a mile, we played Stones at rb - he had a absolute mare, we rushed jagielka back from injury - he had a mare and looked half fit, we played ALCARAZ at cb - shock horro he had a absolute woeful game, the defence we played that day was an utter shambles of crap player, half fit player and player who can't play in the postition he was played
