I think Monchi's recent record is €170 million in transfer fees earned for €25 million outlay and a further €100 million in transfer fees from academy players. That is astounding.
If we got him and he could replicate 50% of that you are almost halfway to paying for a new stadium if you look at it that way.
I'm sure we have other very decent candidates under consideration but Monchi certainly appears to be an innovator and leader in the field.

What works at Seville might not work for him at Everton. I'm guessing he wouldn't be bringing the full network of scouts Seville have.

Plus you could argue Sevilla are considered a "selling" club which we don't want to be. I know he has brought ample replacements in but not every transfer works. I wouldn't really want Everton to have such squad turnover every year.

I'm being totally honest, I can probably name three directors of football from the top of my head.

I suppose no doubt the kids play the new game " Director of Football 2017 "

think he set that network up in the first place though, imagine that seville team operating the way it does in the transfer market and under no compuction to sell, then alow them 3-4 times the buying power or more, they'd be on a level with Athletico really. Think maybe thats what attracts Moshiri, if it works in another country - who knows really until its tried, but knowing zero about DoF out their like i do, he seems rated as the best by some people who 'should' know

hahahaha ffs.

Let's be honest Mike. I'll hold up my hands and say I'd never heard of Monchi until Liverpool played them in the final. I think the majority of people on here are in the same boat.

Did you spot him years ago or have only just found out about him?

I knew who he was because he rejected real madrid before, forgot about him remembered recently after him being brought up

I always thought a lot of scouts are freelance? Like they contact managers they have a relationship and then get a percentage of the player. Might be wrong.

I would expect correspondence with the manager. Not sure he could sell our players without being given the go ahead from the manager. Its got to be a two way working relationship.
