Just a thought. Alan Irvine just left Blackburn. Did great job as academy director so maybe...

Irvine would be an interesting choice, he's an innovative thinker at Academy level but never really cut it in the top job. I suspects our ambitions now lie above appointing someone who has never done the DoF role , but he strikes me as someone who has the ability to take on the organisational aspects of setting up this role. And he seems to have something in mind next .... " But the former Rovers youth team coach, who played 58 games for the club as well as turning out for Everton and Crystal Palace, is now leaving to ‘further his career away from Ewood Park’.
