Possible Goodison redevelopment.

Why can't the pitch be the local park to kick the ball around. Have cafes, local businesses and community stuff surrounding it, and residential on the back side.
A place for locals to play 'street football', like proper like. With the hope that Goodison park will keep on creating, keep on producing players, that will end up down the way at Bramley. A true legacy.

….unfortunately I think they are, they would look wonderful on the new concourse. I can’t understand any reasoning for them staying.

Would be daft moving them, and with it a small part of our history/heritage. A permanent reminder of Goodison and the history there when where all long gone. With EitC & plenty of blues in the area there'll be well looked after.

We can just as easily commison new statues for BMD, and likely will in the next few years. Not the case of only having them in one place.

….sorry, that nowhere near persuades me. Those stairs would be a wonderful addition to the new stadium concourse where they can be enjoyed by thousands on a daily basis. Crazy decision.

As I said it's not a case of only having 1 set of statues. We can keep the ones at Goodison & commision more for BMD.

Win win situation

There was a report on my phone on Friday that TFG have decided to make it the Women's venue. It was the main story on page 1 and it said it would earn Everton a lot of money. I say 'a lot of money' because I don't remember the exact figure, but it was around 40 million a year. I don't know how, but there you go.

Goodison doesn’t earn us £40m per year with the men’s team based there.

Quite pleased if the woman’s team is based there, even if not in its current state, ie losing the upper tiers etc (if not prohibitively expensive). Can’t see the woman’s team getting crowds north of 20k even on the biggest of occasions, the average is probably more like 2-3k I’d guess (happy to be corrected) but would hope that would go up playing at GP.

Like wise the statues staying in situ, Goodison and the surrounding area of Everton are a core base for our fans, abandoning it (to them) and removing all trace of the football team would be sacrilege.

New statues can be made, even exact copies if that’s ultimately what the consensus is.

Here's a thought.
One that might get me shot out of a canon.
Would there be any sense in Everton FC Womens and Liverpool FC Womens merging and playing at Goodison.
Team could wear purple and call themselves Merseyside FC or Stanley Park FC or something.
Seems to me that there is/will be a market to support one Womens PL team and there's a stadium now that could be used.
I know lots of fans of Everton and Liverpool womens teams would baulk at the idea but it could be a good way to get a competitive well supported womens team playing in an iconic ground.
Probably a non starter but thought I'd see the reaction.
