Herd has been thinning quite a bit since the Iowa caucuses. O'Malley, Huckabee, Santorum and Rand are all out.
Have to admire the persistence of Jim Gilmore. Out of 186,000 votes cast in Iowa, he received 12 and is still trucking on.

Couple of things, considering I just did this a couple of years ago.

If you fit the 'essential skills shortage' criteria, it is very easy to get in. If you don't though........

I came here on a 3 month visitor visa, found a job, applied for a visa and got accepted. That is the 'go for it nothing to lose' route. Most people find the job and apply before getting here though. But if you have the 'mad skillz bro' then it isn't very hard to get into this country. Just be prepared for the insane cost of living here.

I am on the long term skills shortage list. So does that mean I have to hang out in the labor camps for a while before they place me?

Uhmm....dunno the answer to that, as I was on the short and long term. So, from my Visa application it took a week to get passports back with visas attached.

However, it would seem that according to http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/stream/work/skilledmigrant/default.htm you will need to complete an Expression of Interest, then you go into a pool based on your point total, then at some stage you will be invited to apply.

Seems almost exactly like the process we had to go through to obtain permanent residency.

On to New Hampshire as the plot thickens, and it's anybody's race.

Here's how to use an endorsement. Note who made the ad.
There is no way that Jimmy Carter could possibly do more good for Ted Cruz than this.

Bernie is now tied with Clinton in a new national poll.

He is going to do this.

It's interesting. He definitely seems to have the more passionate supporters but he'll need to get a much larger share of the African-American vote than he is currently polling at. Recently, I read an article that suggested that, demographically, Iowa, Vermont and New Hampshire were the three best states for Sanders given the high percentage of white liberals. He should walk it by double-digits in New Hampshire but then what happens in South Carolina and Nevada. Will be fascinating to see how it shakes out.
