Proposed changes to the Premier league

If they are bluffing, and concrete funding isnt in place, they're going to look really stupid.
They aren’t officially bluffing though, as literally no one has put their name to this. It’s all an ‘unnamed source’ - which is patently someone at one or both of the clubs.

As for the ‘funding’ an American bank who’d be prepared to lend against future income, that they’d want to be backed with security from all those involved. That’s not someone putting their cash up, that’s just a massive pay day loan.

Not you, but @catcherintherye - you said it was spot on. I get they are "big clubs" & massive in their own city, but I disagree with their worldwide clout, I dont think I am misunderstanding the situation, they are very niche to two very narrow parts of the Irish global community
This isnt about who's bigger than who.
Its about 2 clubs full of greedy intent sticking 2 fingers up to the rest of British football .
So whats the answer ? Sit back and do nothing or go out and try to maintain the Prem's status in the global market.
And if it took the 2 Glasgow teams to do that then why not go for it.
The local support and fanbase of the traditionally big clubs is as good as ever , this league is not wholly reliant on them 2 clubs.

It was literally a discussion about whether the Glasgow clubs would be able to drive interest (global viewing) as a "big 6" club, rather than a discussion about the morality, or lack of.

Question for you though, wouldn't Celtic and Ranger be sticking their fingers up at british football as much as the greedy 2, by jumping ship to maintain "the Prem's status in the global market."

Somewhere down the line this will happen , if theres a breakaway like the scum want it will only make it happen sooner.
Personally i couldnt be arsed about Scotish football i'm only interested in Everton and The Prem.

Tell the Red Devil’s and the Lucifer 11 to do one
Don’t want the Glasgow clubs in our league either with their drunken fans and all.
Best thing that could happen in my opinion
They will soon get fed up and want back in
Put Liverpool in the Bootle JOC league if that’s still going when it goes t!ts up

Love the bravado but this is what we are up against. Half of those clubs are so big they have been in lower divisions recently. Celtic and rangers have limited interest for tv companies hence how low their tv deal is worth. We need to be close to this proposal (pushing for Euro league Div2) with opportunities for promotion otherwise Mosh and Uzzy will walk. Denise hasn’t helped calling out RS and Man U for an apology last week
Put them in a big league with big money and that will change
Celtic are MASSIVE in the states

I think you're a tad naive, if you don't think Celtic and Rangers, playing in the PL would not have enormous pull. I'd go as far as to say I don't think any teams games would be "miles ahead" of them.
If Celtic or Rangers had 5 years in the PL with access to the TV money and the enhanced sponsorship they could attract they would be top 6 .
Within 10 years they would win the league
Celtic are massive worldwide

Rangers and Celtic, especially in the PL are miles miles bigger than Arsenal and Chelsea mate. In truth they are probably bigger than United and Liverpool too. The support both would garner in England, Ireland and North America would be huge. Chelsea are not even close to being comparable.
Some lads are very parochial
They would be amazed how big Celtic are if they done a bit of research

Definitely not the end of football, but I would love to see someone show some figures to validate they hypothesis that they would be "miles bigger" worldwide, having lived locally, in Dublin, London & the states anecdotally I'm not seeing it
I have been in Vegas when the Celtic supporters come for their AGM ,its massive
330 M WORLDWIDE

The bottom line here is that this is nothing but a floated non story.

The idea of a European SL has been suggested at various points over the last 22 years, there’s a reason it has never gained any traction, and that’s because it’s a crap idea, that has more holes than a Swiss cheese.

This is nothing more than United & the RS foot stomping and making veiled threats via proxy after their ‘project’ was unceremoniously dumped a week ago. The way European football will try and increase its revenue is via the expanded CL plan that can & will run concurrently with the domestic leagues. This can’t and won’t.
