That probably because that wasn't the argument.

Personally, I don't get that from Benitez, certainly not yet, and from what I've found, it's not something often labelled at Benitez. He appears to come across as quite serious, single minded, but not an arrogant bully who doesn't have a plan and always appears like he's lowering himself to be here.

It seems to me you are attaching negative personality traits to him because you don't like him. Most likely because he dared to manage Liverpool before he came here.
There are absolutely loads of accounts of Benitez being distant from his playing staff. You can argue that that is necessary or even a beneficial trait for the position our club is currently in but it certainly qualifies as cold and aloof. As for arrogant, there are any number of examples of his arrogance, just watch the "fachts" speech if you need an example. He's had fallings out with loads of his former players, again this is public record.
You're right about one thing, I don't like him, but I don't have to fabricate a position on his character because there is no shortage of evidence. Honestly, though, I don't care about his character, I care about his ability to do well for this football club and I don't believe he is the best man for the job. I think we will continue to be also rans with Benitez in charge, he is a very defensive coach with old fashioned ideas against teams with more progressive coaches with equivalent or better playing squads he will aim for the 0-0, with maybe a narrow win from a set piece, and will fail more than he succeeds. He is yesterday's man. Combine that with the problems he will have with the crowd when we have a bad run (every manager has one - Benitez will be afforded no slack due to his history) and it is a bad fit. Am I happy to have an ex-koppite in charge? No, but I would have taken Rodgers, for example. Benitez is the wrong man, at the wrong club, at the wrong time. My main worry is, after all of the raised expectations following the Moshiri takeover, that successive mid-table finishes pre-Benitez will be followed by 3 successive mid-table finishes under Benitez and the narrative will be that we should be grateful that he "saved us" from a relegation that was never going to happen. If that is our aspirations we might as well have kept Bill and Moyes in charge.

Well, its all assumption isn't it. We will never know until we do.

Imagine studying articles about 20 years old glorious campaigns of the fat mess who will be binned before Christmas anyway.
Can we see clips about his tactics in China? It would be more relevant.
That only talks about his tactics & system employed, which was effective with the less glamorous squad at his disposal. Which will also give a glimpse what to expect from Rafael. It also compares his first La liga title where they scored only 51 goals and also how they managed to score 71 during their second title with almost the same squad.

It really isn't.

It tells you a lot about his mindset and professionalism.
How many super fit managers in their 60s do you remember? Soon, you will not be able to be a manager unless you are super fit. All the top managers are finished by the time they 50 because they can't keep up with the super fit 18 year olds.

He is not employed because of his physical output. He is employed to managers the players that are.

By your reasoning, does that make Mikel Arteta the best manager in the league?

Not really, but Guardiola (the actual best manager in the league) is 50 and doesn't look a hippo waiting for the bus to Garston

He saved us from the relegation that was not going to happen? He has won stuff and there is a good chance he will add stability which is needed. I think he will have us in that top six.

He is in the minority. Not just in the league, but across football. This idea that the manager has to be or should be as fit as the players is a nonsense. It's all about communication, and it always has been.

Does he have to run about to take training sessions or something? People aren’t worried about whether he can take training, the comments are simply because they don’t like him.

I can’t remember you or anyone else being concerned that Carlo couldn’t do his job because he’s a bit overweight.

Everything I’ve heard about him says he’s an exceptionally hard worker. He sounds like a complete professional and I don’t see how his weight affects that.

Of course he has to run about in training. Even Alex Ferguson spoke of how he had to maintain his physique through his 60s, not only to be able to be competent as his job as a coach, but also as an example to players.

Ancelotti was in a lot better shape than Benitez. Now it nay not inhibit Benitez, but if the results arent right, people are entitled to draw their own conclusions.

It doesnt really matter the shape of the fans either. They are not taking millions of pounds from an org in a position that requires some degree of fitness. It's a complete red herring. I'd expect we will see more comments on his weight IF he doesnt perform to expectations. Theres no point in him whining about it.

This is very true.

Everyone should look after their health which of course includes their weight.

Not to do so when you are actively involved in professional sport is frankly bizarre.

It's a completely fair and legitimate criticism, and we will see a lot more of it.

If people dont want to engage, good for them, but it's a completely valid opinion to have.
