4th could be up for grabs if we buy United’s squad and sell them ours.

Man Utd are going to sign four or five top players. We have no chance of top 4. I don't think we'll get a sniff at top 6 and will do well to finish top half with this manager and this squad.

Utd often have a bad season after a good one and it sort of comes down to if Pogba can be bothered or whether he kicks off to leave. Cavani isn't getting younger. There is high probability they could still finish above us but with Ole at the wheel they could also crash and burn.

If they crash and burn it is not going to be us who capitalise on that, it will be Leicester. I would be surprised if we finished above Villa and Leeds.

He’ll set us up exactly the same when he takes us there

Playing defensively away at a better team is a standard tactic, and perfectly valid

Ancelotti did it last season and we won

When he parks the bus at Anfield he’ll have made a rod for his own back by essentially admitting he’s small time
Nope wrong.

Very very lazy analysis of his teams

They attack and defend as a unit.... Not just defend.

Lazy narratives all over the shop here

As far as I’m concerned, by not really apologising or addressing the small club thing he’s shot himself in the foot

He either sets us up to be tight at the back to nick 1/3 points and have his own words thrown back at him for setting us up as a “small team”

Or he sets us up to be really attacking so no one can accuse him of it and we get skelped like we did under Martinez, making him look moronic and tactically destitute

Whereas if he’d just said “I was annoyed at the result and needed to keep Liverpool fans onside. It’s a perfectly valid tactic and I was wrong to make the comment” then it’s dealt with then and there

He’s made life harder for himself than he had to
Why apologize???

I really like him for it.

Apologising for doing something that he more or less said he will do for us?!...... What next - you want boxers to apologise for punching someone in the face in the ring.

What Rafael said as an opposition manager is far less than what Moyes said as our manager "7th place is a great achievement for a club like Everton"..... He actually said that whilst being the 4th highest paid manager in world football.

Fans with absolutely no sense of direction are holding this club back. The celebration following the Derby win was embarrassing - it highlighted just how low we had gone in previous years

Not nice to read this is it. ... But it's true
Let's just look at the last 10 years eh:

Hate when people say this. Did fans concede all those goals to crap teams at home last season?

Did fans spunk shed loads of money on garbage with no proper recruitment policy in 2017?

Did fans hire Sam Allardyce?

Did fans not finish the chances we created in the cup semi finals in 2016?

Did fans utterly bottle it away to Kiev in 2015?

Did fans blow the Palace game at home in 2014?

Did fans let in 3 goals in 4 minutes against Wigan in 2013?

Did fans back pass Luis Suarez through on goal and then surrender the game in 2012?

The answer to all of them is obviously no. The Evertonians have always showed up. Celebrating the Anfield win a few months back was more just the elation of finally being given something back from that fixture for the first time in 10 years / 20 years away. You are right in the sense that it's shown how far we've slipped, but completely wrong in the thought it's somehow Evertonian's who have held the club back.

If the crashed and burned they will still finish ahead of us. That's the reality. The standard of player on their bench would walk into our team.

You think he’ll be booted for finishing 9th or 10th?? LOOOOOOL that’s exactly what he’s been brought in for, that’s the best case scenario!
You don't need to pay him 6 mn a year for 9th/10th, when you could have paid half by hiring the others for the same.

If you were Klopp or OGS or Guardiola or Tuchel or whoever and we rock up and park the bus and we get a 0-0 or lose 1-0 to a late winner, it's an absolute no brainer to call us a small club now. The media will lap it up, their own fans will love it, we've set ourselves up for this crap. If the opposing manager doesn't say it a journalist will sooner or later.
I'm sure that we will shut up shop and hit them on the counter, when their bench is expensive their our starting eleven this is the only way to win. It will happen and the English media will be happy to jump on Rafael as soon as they get a chance.

Not sure why, the media and even the pundits have never liked him. But they will not say a thing if a English manager even gets relegated instead praise.

Our team hasn't changed that much and so far Sancho hasn't pulled up trees in England, a 15 point swing from last season isn't impossible when you think we need 8 more and they need 7 less.

Like I said I don't think we will finish fourth but it is possible, whereas 1st/2nd and 3rd are not.
