Yeah he did, some of his runs were abysmal, and some of his football was dire. Remember chasing a game and he took Vaughan off for another defender. And he won the trophy of 4th place once.Moyes survived almost every season then
Sorry you have only just seen us win one trophy so in that respect I am lucky. Something missing from todays game is patience.....see what happens. It doesn't seem to apply. Thankfully it did when we had Kendall. Managers should be afforded time to be able to put there stamp on things and build slowly. Everything is a rush nowadays and instant results are expected depite the state of a team they take on. It is much harder now as we have transfer windows rather than be able to shop at anytime but with managers patience should be a virtue. Let them implement there values into the club over a few seasons (as long as we are not in a desparate relegation scrap). If he had been here several seasons then went on a crap run like now then it is obviously his fault and should pay the penalty but currently he actually has got excuses and good excuses. Some are and some aren't but I am one for giving time and letting them do there thing and then we can realistically point a finger if things go array.Yeah he did, some of his runs were abysmal, and some of his football was dire. People act like we should be honoured to have someone like benitez taking us to the heights of mid table. He doesn't care about us. It's a job, about money, same way it was for carlo, for allardyce, for koeman, for martinez, for Silva. But I want and expect more. We have won one trophy in my lifetime, and it's not even a memory I have as I was 4. Every manager since has failed, and now we are just accepting mid table mediocrity as if that's as good as it gets And being told we should just shut up and accept it.
Why are we accepting one win in 8 when the win was against possibly the worst team I've seen in the premier league. Throw in as many excuses as you want, it's not good enough.
Because he found a way to get out of the slump in spite of calls to go, something Koeman, Martinez and Silva couldn’t which is why they were all dismissedMoyes survived almost every season then
That was Moyes career at Everton, slumps and good runs but basically every season. I grew tired quickly of it when I realised this was his way after a couple of seasons. I am expecting it with West Ham alsoBecause he found a way to get out of the slump in spite of calls to go, something Koeman, Martinez and Silva couldn’t which is why they were all dismissed
Benitez is at least experienced enough to re-jig things, like against Tottenham, to try and get results. Hopefully he can put a solid defensive line to hold and frustrate City on Sunday
But benitez isn't a long term appointment. He rarely stays anywhere for longer than 2 or 3 years at a push. A couple of times, but rarely. It's shortsighted. He implements his vision, gets us to midtable competing for europa league places, then we start all over again. He isn't a long term appointment, and even his biggest fans say he is here to steady the ship.Sorry you have only just seen us win one trophy so in that respect I am lucky. Any team would struggle after losing four key players.... we struggle more than most because we don't have adequate replacements.People not willing to give a manager any more than half a season, despite him inheriting a complete mess of a squad, despite him having very little transfer funds, you probably need a bit of a word with yourself, it’s all very childish and shows a sense of entitlement…a bit Geordie or Kopite behaviour.
I was appalled as much as anybody with this divisive appointment, which really went to show how out of touch the Everton senior management team is.
But he’s here now, so banging on about it every day is all a bit pointless IMO.
I understand this is a forum for people to air their views, but the same thing over and over from the same people about the same subject is silly and immature.
You don’t like Benitez, we get it, but he’s the manager and we need him to succeed as best he can with what he has.

The average tenure of a Premier League manager over the last decade is 69.4 league games. So a little under 2 seasons. But benitez isn't a long term appointment. He rarely stays anywhere for longer than 2 or 3 years at a push. A couple of times, but rarely.

I don't believe he had much choice to be honest when you look at the pool of managers we were looking at (out of work ones).Exactly, this is a team that's finished 12th, 10th and currently sit 11th with a large chunk being the same squad over those three years.
It was a really bad appointment due to the division its caused within the fanbase, not even oversight as Moshiri was fully aware it would do this.
I'm certain no manager would be doing better with this current squad (not to mention the injury crisis we're dealing with), as proven by the previous two finishes with a world class manager at the helm.
