A lot longer than that! I was reading the statto book on Everton recently and the number of years we had a good start then proceeded to lose 5 or 6 in a row is amazing. It seems we have always been somewhat up and down for over a hundred years. The exceptions being the years we won the league.

Yeah he did, some of his runs were abysmal, and some of his football was dire. Remember chasing a game and he took Vaughan off for another defender. And he won the trophy of 4th place once.

People act like we should be honoured to have someone like benitez taking us to the heights of mid table. He doesn't care about us. It's a job, about money, same way it was for carlo, for allardyce, for koeman, for martinez, for Silva. But I want and expect more. We have won one trophy in my lifetime, and it's not even a memory I have as I was 4. Every manager since has failed, and now we are just accepting mid table mediocrity as if that's as good as it gets And being told we should just shut up and accept it.

Why are we accepting one win in 8 when the win was against possibly the worst team I've seen in the premier league. Throw in as many excuses as you want, it's not good enough.
