He's the ideal man for the job. He brought Newcastle straight back up after taking them down
Perhaps, but the prevailing opinion from the Horse-punching experts on here, is that it wasn't his fault in the first place that they went down. Or do you disagree with that?

IF we get relegated (I don't think we will, and I didn't suggest it as a scenario), he won't have the excuse of being up against Sir Sizeable of Samuel when he fails.

Don't rule that out, statistically Watford will need a manager in the next four or five months and they tend to alternate between sexy foreign names and experienced PL cloggers.

What have you got against heavy set men? You're the most "fattist" poster on here. But.... are you the fattest?

You have a point.
They don't get much more sexy and exotic sounding than Sir Sizeable of Samuel.

Fans of the Raff Zepperlin wouldn't even be talking about relegation if the Lord of Lard was still in charge.

I would spell that 'counselling'...it's a US vs British Commonwealth 'nuance'...and I would 100% trust the latter over the former
However, you do realize that US English, when analyzed, is most accurate to Oxford English spelling of most words ending in -ize (-ise is NOT Oxford English in most cases).

You've never disliked an Everton manager and still supported Everton? You've never wanted a manager gone and still supported Everton? You gave your full support to Mike Walker, Walter Smith, Ronald Koeman and Sam Allardyce all the way to the end of their tenures? Unless all of those things are true then you can fully understand what the OP was saying. Everton football club will never be one man, whether that be owner, manager or player. If you don't believe that, then it is you who disrespects Everton football club, not anybody else.
yes, I've disliked managers, but I'd like to think it's based on some rationality, like we keep getting beat. Here, we are winning games, but people are complaining about his face and his smile. We all dislike managers at some point I suppose, but most people lose faith when they think the team can't be saved, not cos the manager is overweight.
And so if you carry that level of irrationality into a season, a first season, where we are winning games, and people are hoping for defeats so they can pile in with 'get him out', I think you end up in a bad place.

Absolutely and totally different from wanting a manager gone before he's even started.

It's the opposite with me. Finally a manager that's fatter than me. That's why I like him

I didn't claim they were the same thing, I simply pointed out that you can dislike a manager and still support Everton despite the protestations of the Benitez kult.

When you disliked those managers, when you would rather not have that manager in charge of the club did you cease to support Everton as you have suggested current supporters who would rather not have Benitez in charge should do? Earlier you stated it was impossible to support Everton and to dislike Benitez.

no, I said it was impossible to separate out the manager from the club. I take your point though that there are some instances, for example where the manager has been shown to be incompetent, where the two interests diverge. But generally, everything Everton do over the next two to three years will have Benitez's prints on them. So to attempt during this period to support the club whilst loathing the manager seems an exercise in perversity. We'll see, won't we Windy, what contortions you put yourself through to maintain this high wire act.
The early signs aint good though. You bad mouthing a free transfer on the grounds we spent too much is just the start of the sort of rabbit holes you'll be exploring. Dont forget your torch.

Which free transfer are you referring to? I can only assume this is the signing of Andy Lonergan? I stand by my position that signing a 37 year old no mark who has played less than 10 first team games in the past three years, despite being at lower league clubs during that time period, is pointless and deprives a young goalkeeper of an opportunity to be involved with the match day squads. No contortions or rabbit holes required. I assume you believe Lonergan will have a big part to play at the club?
