I'm giving the guy a full season before I judge him within the context of having had no money to spend. (sorry 1.7m .... wow)

I don't love Benitez, I'm not a fan. I'm just someone who wants our club to do well.

I find it hilarious that the haters try framing anyone who is giving the manager a 'fair' chance as extremist RS fans who love Benitez.

Calling Evertonians who want us to win RS while hoping 'we' lose?

What great fans you are.
It works both ways.

You are annoyed at other fans having a pop at your "side" yet want to take a pop at those not on your "side"?

Bit hypocritical isn't it?

I know who my anger is pointed towards and it certainly is not either "side".

Forget who were talking ahout specifically here.

I must be in a twilight zone when people are being admonished for calling out a manager with an extremely poor performance.

In a weird way, if it was anyone else those same posters would probably be the 1st to complain.

Its almost as if its attention seeking to go against logic.

Or pure boredom?

Just find it extremely peculiar behaviour.

Probably like the same reason none of the good ole boys in the States can get over Trump. They hitched their wagon to him and, do or die, they'll back him regardless of anything he does. Benitez hasn't been a "good" manager in a decade+ but we still have people here lining up to defend him. It's really just so odd.

He's lost the players, lost the fans - he's finished here.

The only advantage, after his inevitable sacking in a few weeks, is that the new manager will be able to build his own backroom team, since he has fired everyone.

As i say, forgetting the manager himself, his performance so far would be called shambolic if he was an unknown from Scandinavia/Eastern Europe or suchlike.

The weird thing is the undiluted support in the face of such overwhelming evidence. Its totally illogical.

It can only be attention seeking or boredom imo...unless i am seriously missing some building blocks which to my eyes are nonexistant.

Admonishing posters for being RS fans or wanting the team to lose for having the temerity to question the manager...

...its like an alternate universe.

He certainly looked to have lost the players until the Arsenal game.

Im sure he gets the window barring a massively horrific run between now and January.

This guy will need to make several moves to impove the squad and impress the fanbase.

We know none of that is going to happen - he has no transfer acumen, as proved over several years, and now he hasnt even got a scouting department left after he has fired everyone.

I shudder to think what kind of 'gems' he is going to rustle up in January.

These new acquistions will be on 3-5 year contracts - because that is the norm in a heavily unionsed, closed shop player environment.

These players cannot be fired at will, as you can a manager.

This window has the possibility of crippling us for a decade to come, given our existing problems.

I predict that we will look back on the Benitez reign as being orders of magnitutde worse than Walsh/Koeman.
